Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SCH-I400 Continuum — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB504465YZ)
This 3.7V, 1750mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original EB504465YZ battery in the Samsung SCH-I400 Continuum and related models. It also fits the Gem i100 / SCH-i100 and several other Samsung handsets sharing the same connector and voltage rail. Capacity figure is from the product specification — 6.48Wh total energy.
- SCH-I400 Continuum and Gem i100 compatibility: Both handsets run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with the same physical connector and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers both platforms without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full charge-discharge sequence and monitored the BMS cutoff response at both high load and idle draw. Charge acceptance and protection circuit response matched OEM parameters.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SCH-I400 after a cell swap
The SCH-I400's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve data from the old, degraded cell. When the phone predicts 20–30% remaining using that stale curve, the new cell's actual voltage under modem or screen load can drop below the hardware cutoff threshold — triggering an abrupt shutdown. The phone is not faulty and the replacement cell is not defective. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging and the fuel gauge IC will remap to the new cell's actual capacity.
Phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new Li-ion cell arrives with higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first charge cycles, the charge IC works against this higher resistance, which generates moderate heat at the battery compartment. This is normal and diminishes after two or three full cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If warmth persists beyond the third cycle or the phone becomes hot to the touch, check that the replacement cell is seated flush and the contacts are clean — then recheck charge behaviour at 4.2V termination.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SCH-I400 shuts off randomly at around 25% battery — is this a fault with the replacement cell?
This is a fuel gauge calibration issue, not a defective cell. The phone's coulomb counter is still tracking the old cell's degraded discharge curve, so its voltage prediction is wrong — the replacement cell's voltage drops below the hardware cutoff before the display reaches 0%. Run two full discharge-charge cycles at standard charge rate without fast charging, and the fuel gauge IC will remap to the new cell's actual curve. After that, shutdowns at partial charge should stop.
After fitting the new EB504465YZ, the battery percentage jumps around erratically — sometimes it reads 80%, then drops to 50% in minutes.
Erratic percentage readings are the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar discharge curve. The old cell's data is still in the IC's memory and it cannot accurately interpolate the new cell's state of charge yet. Let the phone drain fully until it shuts down from low voltage, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard rate — one complete cycle. Repeat once more if the jumping persists after the first full cycle.
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation.
A Li-ion cell stored at low charge will self-discharge over time, and if it dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS has locked out to prevent damage — the phone will not respond to the power button or show a charging indicator immediately. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a computer USB port, and leave it for 15–20 minutes without touching it. The BMS recovery circuit needs a trickle current to bring cell voltage back above the 2.9V reinitiation threshold before normal charging resumes and the phone will power on.
