Fits Sharp 940SH, DM005SH, 942SH, 942SHKT smartphones; replaces OEM part SHBCR1.
This 3.7V 750mAh cell restores talk time and standby duration on aging Sharp handsets.
Connector slides straight in; locking tab sits flush against the battery door frame.
We bench-tested the BMS on a 940SH; fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell within one charge cycle.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging enabled—this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sharp 940SH / 942SH Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SHBCR1)

This is a 3.7V, 750mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Sharp 940SH smartphone. It also fits the DM005SH, 942SH, and 942SHKT. The SHBCR1 form factor is a compact 38.18 × 37.21 × 5.30mm cell that slots directly into the original battery bay.

  • 940SH / 942SH platform compatibility: These models share the same battery cavity dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell replacement covers all four listed variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a controlled rig, confirming the BMS communicates correctly with the charge IC and that protection cutoffs trigger at expected voltage thresholds — no false trips at load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Sharp 940SH after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under modem or display load that the IC doesn't anticipate. The phone's protection circuit reads the voltage drop as 0% and shuts down — even though the reported percentage was higher. One full discharge-to-cutoff and recharge cycle at standard rate lets the coulomb counter recalibrate against the actual cell characteristics, and the shutdowns stop.

Phone won't power on after the SHBCR1 sat in storage before installation

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent damage — and the phone shows nothing when you press the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a PC USB port, and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC needs to deliver a trickle pre-charge above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.9V per cell, before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Sharp 940SH shows the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new SHBCR1 — is the battery faulty?

The battery is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the 940SH calibrated its discharge curve to the old, degraded cell, so the percentage readings are off against a fresh cell. Run one full discharge — let the phone power off on its own — then charge to 100% at standard rate without fast charge enabled. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter resets its reference and the percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the SHBCR1 — the phone charges slowly now.

On first contact with a new cell, the charge IC can refuse to negotiate the proprietary fast-charge protocol until it verifies the BMS is responding correctly. This is normal on the first charge cycle. Plug into the original Sharp charger, let it complete a full charge at standard rate, then unplug and reconnect — the fast-charge handshake typically re-establishes on the second cycle once the BMS has confirmed cell health to the charge controller.

The 940SH feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new SHBCR1 — should I stop?

A new cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more heat during the first few cycles as current meets that resistance. Mild warmth at the back of the phone near the battery bay is normal and settles after two or three full charge cycles as impedance drops. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the warmth persists past the third cycle, check that the replacement cell is seated flat with no gap pressing the back cover against the cell — uneven pressure can cause localised heating.
