Fits Nokia 6215 and 6215i phones; replaces OEM battery part number BL-5002C.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 800mAh delivers sustained voltage for calls, messaging, and standby without midcall dropout.
Connector slides straight into the original slot with no locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in a 6215 unit — BMS accepted the charge cycle without fault codes, and discharge curve held 3.5V minimum under active modem load.
After installation, run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before resuming normal use so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against this cell's actual discharge profile.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nokia 6215 / 6215i — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-5002C)

This is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Nokia 6215 and 6215i mobile phones. It uses OEM part number BL-5002C and restores power to a phone where the original cell has degraded or stopped holding a charge. Voltage and connector match the original Nokia specification.

  • Nokia 6215 and 6215i compatibility: Both the 6215 and 6215i use the same BL-5002C battery slot, voltage rail at 3.7V nominal, and identical connector footprint. There is no BMS handshake variation between the two models — the same cell works in both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the 6215 platform. The BMS accepted charge without error flags, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold during deep discharge testing.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable any fast-charge accessory and run one full discharge-charge cycle before normal use. The phone's fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one complete cycle lets it remap against the new cell's actual capacity before reporting percentages accurately.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Nokia 6215 after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity defect. When the phone is under load — active call, screen on, GSM radio transmitting — the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC predicts. The gauge was trained on the old cell's internal resistance profile, so it reads 25% remaining while the actual cell voltage has already fallen below the modem's minimum supply threshold. The phone shuts off to protect the modem circuit, not because the battery is faulty. One full discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and eliminates this behaviour.

Nokia 6215 not powering on after the battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells in storage self-discharge over time. If the cell drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. The phone will show no response to the power button — this is not a dead phone. Connect the phone to a low-current charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the 2.5V threshold, at which point the BMS re-enables normal charging and the phone will boot.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nokia 6215 shows the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new BL-5002C — is the battery defective?

The battery is not defective. The fuel gauge IC inside the phone was calibrated against the discharge curve of the original worn cell, not the new one. It will read incorrectly until it recalibrates. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — after that single cycle the coulomb counter resets and percentage reporting becomes accurate.

The Nokia 6215 gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges with the new cell — is that normal?

A new Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance before it is conditioned. The charge IC pushes current into higher resistance on the first one to two cycles, which generates more heat than usual. This is expected and reduces after the cell is broken in. If the phone stays warm after three full charge cycles, check that the battery contacts are clean and making full contact — a partial connection forces the charge IC to work harder.

My Nokia 6215 shuts off suddenly when the screen shows around 20–25% battery remaining — why does this keep happening with the new battery?

This is a voltage sag problem under GSM radio load, not a fault with the replacement cell. When the phone transmits, current draw spikes and the cell voltage drops sharply — the phone's protection circuit reads that drop as a critically low voltage and cuts power before the fuel gauge catches up. It happens because the gauge's discharge model is still calibrated to the old cell. Do one full discharge-charge cycle with the screen on and the phone in active use to let the fuel gauge IC remap the new cell's voltage curve against real load conditions.
