Fits Kyocera DV-8300 and US-P models, replacing OEM battery part number BLI-248.
3.7V and 1000mAh rating matches the original cell capacity for this candybar phone.
Connector slides straight into the original battery slot with no adapter or modification needed.
We bench-tested this pack on a DV-8300 test unit — the BMS accepted charge immediately with no fault codes.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle before relying on the fuel gauge percentage readout — the phone's coulomb counter needs to recalibrate against the new cell discharge profile.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SVP DV-8300 / US-P — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BLI-248)

This is a 3.7V 1000mAh Li-ion cell replacing the original BLI-248 battery in the SVP DV-8300 and US-P candybar-style mobile phones. It slots into the same battery bay and connects via the original contacts. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly — 3.7V, 1000mAh, 3.7Wh.

  • DV-8300 and US-P fit: Both models run the same 3.7V battery rail and share the BLI-248 footprint — same connector pitch, same contact placement, same BMS handshake logic. One cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the DV-8300. The BMS accepted the charge profile without tripping, and voltage held steady across the discharge curve under typical phone load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use, disable fast charging if your charger supports it and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC in older candybar phones calibrates to the new cell's discharge curve on that first pass — skip it and the percentage readout drifts.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the DV-8300 after a cell swap

The DV-8300's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new cell has a slightly different curve, so the IC misreads remaining capacity. The phone thinks it has charge left, but the cell voltage drops below the processor's minimum under load — call audio and screen draw together can spike current enough to trigger an abrupt shutdown. One full discharge-to-charge cycle lets the IC recalibrate. After that cycle, the percentage readout tracks the actual cell state correctly.

Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS trips into lockout mode to prevent damage — the phone will not respond to the power button. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC delivers a low-current trickle to bring the cell voltage back above the BMS recovery threshold, at which point the phone will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my SVP DV-8300 show 25% battery and then cut off without warning?

The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell — it doesn't know the new cell has a steeper voltage drop near the bottom. When combined load from the modem and screen spikes current, the cell voltage collapses below the processor's cutoff before the gauge reaches 0%. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the fuel gauge recalibrates to the new cell and the percentage readout becomes accurate.

The battery percentage on my DV-8300 jumps around erratically after I installed the new cell — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The coulomb counter in the DV-8300 was calibrated to the original battery's impedance and discharge profile. The new cell has different internal characteristics, so the IC is interpolating against the wrong reference data. Let the phone run down to auto-shutdown once, then charge uninterrupted to full. That single full cycle gives the fuel gauge IC enough data to rewrite its reference curve for the new cell, and the percentage will stabilise.

My DV-8300 feels warm near the battery during the first charge with the new cell — is that normal?

A new Li-ion cell typically has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC pushes slightly more voltage to maintain the target charge current. That converts to a small amount of extra heat during the first few cycles. It is normal and reduces as the cell completes its initial charge cycles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch rather than just warm, remove it from the charger and check that the charger output matches the phone's rated input — the DV-8300 charges at 5V standard, not a higher USB-PD voltage.
