Fits Nikon Coolpix DV-8300 and DV-8300 US-P models, replaces OEM battery BLI-248.
3.7V 750mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 2.78Wh — sufficient for standard photo and video shooting on this compact.
Connector is a proprietary two-pin contact; battery slides into the camera slot with locking tab fully seated.
We bench-tested this cell on a DV-8300 frame; BMS accepted charge on first cycle without cutoff faults.
On first use, disable fast-charge mode for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates to this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SVP DV-8300 / US-P — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BLI-248)

This is a 3.7V 750mAh Li-ion cell built to the BLI-248 spec, replacing the original battery in the SVP DV-8300 and US-P digital cameras. It fits the original battery compartment and connects to the same charging circuit. Capacity is 2.78Wh — matching the stock cell.

  • DV-8300 and US-P compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions and charge management circuit, so a single BLI-248-spec cell covers both. The connector orientation and BMS handshake profile are identical across the two platforms.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge passes on a DV-8300 body. The BMS accepted the charge curve without fault flags, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge reset on the DV-8300: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before shooting. The camera's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. One full cycle lets it recalibrate against this cell so the battery indicator reads accurately.

Why the DV-8300 shows wrong battery level after a cell swap

The DV-8300 tracks charge state using a coulomb counter tied to the original cell's discharge profile. A new cell has a slightly different internal resistance, which shifts the voltage curve the camera expects. Until the gauge IC recalibrates, the percentage display lags behind actual charge state. One full discharge and recharge cycle resets the reference point and brings the indicator back in line.

Camera won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells shipped or stored at partial charge can drop below 2.5V per cell during long periods without use. When that happens, the BMS locks the cell out to prevent damage from deep-discharge charging. Plug the camera into its charger and leave it connected for at least 15–20 minutes without attempting to power on — the charge IC needs to push a trickle current through before the BMS releases the lockout. If the camera still won't respond after 30 minutes on charge, check that the charger is delivering at least 4.2V at the connector.

Frequently Asked Questions

The battery percentage on my DV-8300 jumped from 60% straight to 10% — is the new cell faulty?

The fuel gauge IC in the DV-8300 is still running on the discharge curve it mapped to the old cell. When internal resistance differs even slightly on a new cell, voltage readings become unreliable and the percentage display drops suddenly at mid-charge. This is a calibration issue, not a cell defect. Run one complete discharge — use the camera until it shuts off automatically — then charge it fully without interruption to reset the coulomb counter.

My DV-8300 cuts off abruptly during video recording even though the indicator shows charge remaining.

Video recording draws a sustained current load that the fuel gauge's static voltage reading cannot account for. If the cell voltage sags below the BMS protection threshold under that load, the camera shuts down even when the indicator still shows charge. This is a voltage-cliff behaviour — the cell can hold resting voltage but cannot sustain it under load. Charge the battery fully to 4.2V before recording sessions and avoid starting recordings when the indicator is below 30%.

The DV-8300 won't turn on at all after I installed the new battery — nothing on screen.

A new cell that has been in storage can arrive below the BMS re-enable threshold of around 2.5V. The protection circuit blocks all output until a trickle charge raises the cell voltage enough to release the lockout. Connect the camera to its charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. If the charge indicator light comes on at any point during that window, the BMS is recovering — wait for a full charge cycle before powering on.
