Fits TCL 50 Pro, NXTPAPER 5G, and T702W models; replaces OEM part TLP049DA.
3.87V and 4900mAh capacity powers all phone functions at full draw without voltage sag.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with no locking tab; orientation marked on cell.
We bench-tested this cell on a T702W platform; the fuel gauge IC accepted the new BMS handshake without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TCL 50 Pro / NXTPAPER 5G — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLP049DA)

This is a 3.87V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the TCL 50 Pro, NXTPAPER 5G, and T702W smartphones. It uses OEM part number TLP049DA and slots directly into the same connector and housing as the factory cell. Capacity figure comes from product data — 18.96Wh total energy.

  • 50 Pro, NXTPAPER 5G, and T702W compatibility: All three models share the same 3.87V battery rail, TLP049DA connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the whole group without any wiring or adapter changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, load, and BMS cutoff on T702W hardware. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage threshold and accepted a full recharge without fault flags on the charge IC.
  • First-cycle fast-charge tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes power into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.

Why the TCL 50 Pro reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. Drop in a new cell and that stored curve no longer matches actual cell chemistry or impedance. The OS reads voltage and translates it through the old map, so the percentage displayed can be off by 10–20%. One full discharge down to auto-shutoff followed by a complete charge resets the coulomb counter and forces the IC to relearn the new cell's curve. After that cycle, percentage accuracy returns to normal.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a freshly installed replacement cell

This happens when the modem or display draws a current spike the cell cannot sustain at that state of charge — voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the gauge still shows 20–30% remaining. It is a calibration gap, not a faulty cell. Run one slow full-cycle charge with fast charging off, let the fuel gauge IC map the actual voltage cliff for this cell, and the shutdowns stop. After calibration, the OS will show a lower percentage before cutoff rather than an abrupt shutdown.

Frequently Asked Questions

The phone won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months with the new battery installed — is it dead?

The BMS locks out when cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V, which happens during extended storage with no charge top-up. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on. A low-current trickle from the charger brings the cell above the BMS recovery threshold and re-initialises the protection circuit. If the charge indicator appears within that window, the cell is recovering normally.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after fitting this battery — USB-PD shows slow charging only.

The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake sometimes fails on the first cycle because the charge IC on the phone re-evaluates BMS parameters when a new cell is detected. Disconnect the cable, reboot the phone fully, then reconnect to the fast charger. In most cases the handshake completes correctly on the second connection once the charge IC has logged the new cell's impedance profile. If slow charging persists past two or three cycles, check that the cable is USB-PD rated — standard cables cap current regardless of charger output.

The battery percentage is jumping around erratically — showing 45%, then 60%, then 38% within minutes.

Erratic percentage jumps are the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell whose discharge curve it has not yet mapped. The stored curve from the old cell does not match the new cell's voltage-to-capacity relationship, so the IC corrects itself in visible steps as it collects new data points. Run one uninterrupted full discharge — use the phone normally until auto-shutoff — then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single calibration cycle, the coulomb counter locks onto the correct curve and percentage readout stabilises.
