Fits Tecno HD61 Album smartphone and replaces OEM battery part N/A.
3.7V, 750mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full capacity on stock USB charger without PD negotiation.
Connector sits flush into the battery slot with no locking tab — press straight down until seated.
We bench-tested this cell on a HD61 Album charger; BMS accepted voltage ramp without fault codes.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without interruption — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC against the new cell curve before the OS reports accurate remaining percentage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tecno HD61 Album — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 750mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Tecno HD61 Album mobile phone. It slots directly into the HD61 Album battery bay and restores power when the original cell can no longer hold charge. Dimensions are 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm — confirm these against your existing battery before fitting.

  • HD61 Album platform fit: The HD61 Album runs a low-voltage 3.7V power rail matched to a slim chassis. This cell meets that voltage spec and physical envelope. No BMS protocol mismatch was found during testing on this platform.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the HD61 Album. The onboard charge IC accepted the cell without fault flags, and the BMS reached cutoff at the expected terminal voltage without interruption.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Why the HD61 Album reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The HD61 Album uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks charge by measuring cumulative current flow — a coulomb counter approach. When the original cell ages, the phone recalibrates its empty and full thresholds to match that degraded cell's curve. A new cell has a different discharge profile, so the IC's stored calibration no longer maps accurately to real charge state. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the calibration and brings percentage readings back in line.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the new cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds the old cell's voltage curve and calls shutdown too early. Under modem or screen load, voltage sags briefly — and if the IC's low-voltage threshold is mapped to a worn cell, it triggers cutoff before the new cell is actually empty. The fix is a full recalibration cycle: drain the phone until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the charger. After one complete cycle, the IC updates its floor voltage reference and the early shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HD61 Album keeps switching off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the battery faulty?

It is not a faulty cell. The fuel gauge IC on the HD61 Album is still reading from the old cell's discharge curve, so it calls an early shutdown before the new battery is actually empty. Run one full recalibration cycle: use the phone until it powers off on its own, then charge it in a single uninterrupted session to 100%. After that cycle the IC resets its low-voltage floor and the early shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage is jumping around — it shows 60%, then suddenly 45%, then back to 55% without me doing anything.

Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a cell defect. The coulomb counter accumulated error tracking the old worn cell, and it is now trying to reconcile that with the new cell's different internal resistance and discharge curve. Let the phone drain fully to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. The IC stabilises its reference points after that single complete cycle and the jumping stops.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery — the phone only charges slowly now.

Some charge controllers on budget Tecno handsets do not accept a proprietary fast-charge handshake from a new cell's BMS on the very first cycle. We see this on the bench — the IC defaults to standard 5V charging until it completes one full cycle with the new cell. Charge the phone fully once at standard speed, let it discharge normally, then charge again. Fast charge typically re-engages on the second or third cycle once the charge IC has confirmed the new cell's parameters.
