Fits UTEC V171, V181, V201, and V566 smartphones replacing OEM battery N/A.
3.7V 1000mAh lithium-ion cell delivers standard capacity for daily smartphone operation without modification.
Connector type and orientation match original V171 pack; physical slot accepts 53.00 x 33.90 x 5.70mm form factor.
Bench testing shows BMS accepts charge cycles without fault codes; fuel gauge IC requires recalibration against new discharge curve.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current fast charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

UTEC V171 / V181 / V201 / V566 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V 1000mAh Li-ion battery for the UTEC V171, V181, V201, and V566 smartphones. It fits the same cell bay across all four models and matches the original voltage rail and connector footprint. Capacity is 1000mAh (3.7Wh), identical to the factory specification.

  • V171 / V181 / V201 / V566 platform fit: These four models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell covers all of them. The charge IC on each device communicates with the same battery management registers.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a V171 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without rejection flags, and the charge IC completed a full constant-current/constant-voltage cycle without interruption.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before applying high-current charging to an uncalibrated state-of-charge register.

Why the V171 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the V171 stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell in its coulomb counter registers. When a new cell goes in, those stored values no longer match the actual cell chemistry. The OS reads from the cached curve, not the real cell state, so percentages appear inflated or jump unpredictably. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the calibration baseline.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the modem or display triggers a current spike and the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the gauge still reads above 20%. The fuel gauge IC hasn't yet mapped where the new cell's voltage cliff actually sits. It cuts power to protect the cell before the display percentage catches up. Run two full discharge-charge cycles and the gauge IC will shift its low-voltage cutoff reference to match the new cell — shutdowns at 20–30% should stop after the second full cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

The phone powered off at around 25% and now won't turn back on — is the new battery dead?

No. The BMS tripped on a voltage sag under screen or modem load before the fuel gauge caught up with the new cell's discharge curve. Plug in a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button — the BMS needs to see trickle current before it releases the lockout. Once the charge IC detects a safe cell voltage, the phone will power on normally.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I charged the replacement battery — it's running on slow charge only.

The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake sometimes fails on the first cycle with a new cell because the BMS hasn't yet confirmed a valid charge state to the charge IC. Run one complete standard-rate charge to 100%, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. On the second cycle, the charge IC will re-negotiate the fast-charge protocol once it has a calibrated cell voltage reference to work from.

The battery percentage is jumping around — goes from 60% to 45% in seconds without much use.

The coulomb counter inside the fuel gauge IC is still reading from the old cell's stored discharge curve. It hasn't mapped where the new cell's voltage sits at each charge level, so it overcorrects when load changes. Drain the phone fully until it shuts down on its own, then charge to 100% in one uninterrupted session. That single full cycle gives the fuel gauge IC enough data to rebuild an accurate state-of-charge table for the new cell.
