Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lark Bjorn SP-220 / SP-230 Dual SIM — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V Li-ion cell replaces the internal battery in the Lark SP-220, SP-220 Dual, SP-230 Dual, and SP-230 Dual SIM smartphones. Capacity is 1000mAh (3.7Wh). The cell dimensions are 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm — measure your original before ordering if you are unsure.
- SP-220 and SP-230 Dual SIM platform: Both the single-SIM SP-220 and dual-SIM SP-230 variants share the same battery bay dimensions and voltage rail. The connector pinout and BMS handshake are consistent across the series, so one cell covers all four listed models.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge-discharge cycles and confirmed the BMS communicates correctly with the fuel gauge IC. Charge acceptance was stable from 3.0V up to the 4.2V cutoff, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at overdischarge.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle. The phone's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. One full cycle at standard current lets it recalibrate before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SP-220 after a cell swap
The SP-220's modem and display draw current in short, sharp spikes. A fresh Li-ion cell with slightly higher internal impedance than the worn original can fail to hold voltage under those spikes, even at 25% reported charge. The fuel gauge IC reads voltage, not coulombs, so it reports 25% right up until the cell voltage collapses under load. One full calibration cycle — full discharge to auto-off, then full charge uninterrupted — typically narrows that gap. If shutdowns continue past three cycles, check the cell resting voltage under no load; it should read above 3.6V at the point of shutdown.
Phone warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges
A new Li-ion cell has higher impedance than a cell that has been cycled. The charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance, and the difference appears as heat. On the SP-220 this is most noticeable in the lower-rear area where the battery sits close to the back cover. It typically reduces after three to five cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the device feels hot to the touch — not just warm — stop the charge and let the phone cool to room temperature before resuming.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SP-220 just shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?
It is not faulty. The phone's fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve from the old, worn cell, so the percentage reading does not match where the new cell's voltage actually collapses under modem load. Run one full cycle — drain the phone to auto-off, then charge to 100% without interruption — and the IC will recalibrate against the new cell. If shutdowns continue after three full cycles, check the resting voltage; it should sit above 3.6V when the phone switches off.
The battery percentage is jumping around erratically after I installed this cell — 60%, then 45%, then 55% within minutes.
The coulomb counter and fuel gauge IC in the SP-220 were tuned to the capacity fade profile of the original cell. A new 1000mAh cell presents a different discharge curve, so the IC loses track of state-of-charge and guesses. The fix is the same calibration cycle: run the phone fully down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% in one uninterrupted session. Repeat twice if the jumping persists — the IC needs real discharge data from the new cell before its estimates stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery on my SP-230 Dual SIM — it only trickle-charges now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC in the SP-230 series will sometimes fall back to trickle current because the BMS on the new cell has not yet completed a full handshake cycle. Disconnect the charger, power the phone off completely, then reconnect. If fast charge still does not engage, complete one full standard-rate charge to 100%, then reboot the phone before plugging in again. Normal charge rates should resume after that first complete cycle.
