Fits Acer AcerNote 370, AcerNote 374, and LifeNote 373 models replacing BTP-X31, BTP-W31, and equivalent OEM part numbers.
10.8V, 4000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers 43.2Wh capacity matching the original pack output for this notebook generation.
Battery slides into the rear slot with a flat connector and locking tab that seats flush against the case.
We bench tested this cell on an AcerNote 370 — the BMS accepted the pack and delivered steady voltage under sustained load.
On first charge after installation, run the battery fully down to shutdown then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warnings common after every cell swap on this platform.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer AcerNote 370 Series — 10.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BTP-X31)

This is a 10.8V, 4000mAh (43.2Wh) nickel-metal hydride replacement battery for the Acer AcerNote 370 laptop. It fits the AcerNote 370, AcerNote 374, AcerNote LifeNote 373, and AcerNote Light 370, among others. It restores portable operation when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge.

  • AcerNote 370 series compatibility: These models share the same BTP-X31 connector pinout, voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol. OEM part numbers BTP-W31, 60.46914.051, 60.46914.061, 91.46928.010, and 91.48428.051 are all covered by this cell.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge-to-cutoff and load discharge on the AcerNote platform. The BMS negotiated correctly, accepted a full charge without truncation, and held voltage within spec under sustained CPU and display load.
  • First-install cycle tip: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that typically appears after every Ni-MH cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after cell swap

The AcerNote BIOS stores charge history and health data in EEPROM on the old cell. When a new cell is installed, that data is gone and the BIOS flags the battery as degraded or unknown before any calibration has occurred. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% to complete the BIOS learn cycle. After two or three full cycles, the health indicator returns to normal.

Laptop shuts down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual capacity curve. The gauge reads a remaining percentage based on old EEPROM data, but the cell voltage drops below the BIOS cutoff threshold before that percentage reaches zero. The laptop interprets this as a sudden fault and shuts down immediately rather than hibernating. Force a full discharge to the hibernate point, recharge fully to 100%, and repeat twice — after that the fuel gauge IC recalibrates and the percentage readout tracks accurately. Target a resting voltage of 12.6V at full charge to confirm the cell is calibrated.

Frequently Asked Questions

The AcerNote 370 shows 0% or "unknown battery" in Windows right after I installed the new cell — is it dead?

No — the fuel gauge IC on this platform reads EEPROM data from the previous cell, and a fresh cell has none. Windows and the BIOS both flag it as unknown until the IC calibrates. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After two full cycles the percentage readout stabilises.

The Wh rating showing in system info doesn't match the 43.2Wh spec on the listing — why?

The system pulls Wh data from EEPROM written at the factory for the original cell, not from the physical cell now installed. The replacement cell is rated 43.2Wh at 10.8V and 4000mAh — that figure is correct. The system info field updates after the BIOS completes its battery learn cycle, which takes two full charge-discharge passes.

My AcerNote 370 won't charge the new battery past about 80% and then stops — what's causing that?

On the AcerNote platform, if the BIOS learn cycle wasn't completed after the cell swap, the charge controller uses the degraded profile from the old cell and applies an early charge termination point. This is a firmware behaviour, not a hardware fault with the new cell. Do a full discharge to hibernate-cutoff and charge to 100% without interruption. Confirm the pack reaches a resting voltage of at least 12.6V — if it does, the charge controller has accepted the new cell profile.
