The AcerNote BIOS stores charge history and health data in EEPROM on the old cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% to complete the BIOS learn cycle. After two or three full cycles, the health indicator returns to normal.
Laptop shuts down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual capacity curve. The gauge reads a remaining percentage based on old EEPROM data, but the cell voltage drops below the BIOS cutoff threshold before that percentage reaches zero. The laptop interprets this as a sudden fault and shuts down immediately rather than hibernating.
