Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer TravelMate 3200 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (916-3060)
This 11.1V Li-ion battery carries 4400mAh (48.84Wh) and fits the Acer TravelMate 3200, 3200XCi, 3200XMi, 3201, and related models. It replaces OEM parts 916-3060, BT.00907.001, SQU-405, SQU-406, and several others listed above. The connector and BMS handshake match the original spec so the system recognises it without driver changes.
- TravelMate 3200 series compatibility: These models share the same 11.1V three-cell rail, connector pinout, and SMBus communication protocol. One battery covers the full range because the BMS negotiates the same charge curve across each variant.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on the TravelMate 3200 platform and logged charge acceptance across three full cycles. The BMS completed CC/CV transitions cleanly with no fault codes and no premature cutoff at the top of charge.
- Post-install calibration on the TravelMate 3200: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the machine. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting a new cell
The TravelMate 3200 BIOS reads health data stored in the old cell's EEPROM and compares it against the new cell's reported parameters. When a fresh cell arrives with a different EEPROM profile, the BIOS flags it as degraded — even though the cell is new. This is a firmware interpretation issue, not a battery fault. One complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites the learn-cycle data and clears the warning on next boot.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC's stored discharge curve no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage profile. Under full CPU plus display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the old curve predicts, and the system triggers an emergency shutdown before the gauge reaches zero. The fuel gauge needs calibration cycles against the new cell chemistry to map the correct cutoff point. Run two to three full discharge-then-charge cycles without interruption — after that, the gauge tracks to within a few percentage points of actual remaining capacity and the premature shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The TravelMate 3200 shows 0% or "unknown" battery right after I installed the new cell — is it dead?
It is not dead. The SMBus fuel gauge IC is reading EEPROM data from the old cell and cannot yet map it to the new cell's chemistry. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle the gauge recalibrates against the new cell and the percentage reads correctly.
Windows says the Wh rating on this battery is different from what the original listed — should I be worried?
No. The Wh figure Windows reads comes from EEPROM data embedded in the battery's BMS chip. The rated value in that EEPROM reflects the original OEM cell's chemistry spec, which can differ slightly from the actual delivered capacity of a replacement cell. The functional charge and discharge behaviour is unchanged. Check the voltage under load in your power settings — if it sits above 10.8V at 50% charge, the cell is working correctly.
Charge stops at around 80% and never goes higher — what is blocking it?
The TravelMate 3200 BIOS includes a charge-limit threshold that activates when it detects what it interprets as a degraded cell. It caps charging at 80% to protect what it thinks is a weak pack. Run a full battery learn cycle — discharge fully to hibernate, then charge to 100% without interrupting or using the laptop. If the BIOS still caps at 80% after two learn cycles, check the Acer Power Management settings in Windows and disable any "battery health" or charge-limit option listed there.
