Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus Chromebook C425TA / C433TA — 11.55V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (C31N1824-1)
This is an 11.55V, 4050mAh (46.78Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Asus Chromebook C425TA-H50041, C425TA, C433TA, and Chromebook Flip C433TA series. It matches OEM part numbers C31N1824-1, C31PnC1, 0B200-03550000, and 0B200-03550100. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge or Chrome OS flags battery health as critical.
- C425TA and C433TA series compatibility: Both convertible Chromebook lines share the same three-cell Li-Polymer configuration, 11.55V voltage rail, and C31N1824-1 BMS handshake — so one cell covers the full group without connector or firmware conflicts.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a C425TA chassis. The embedded controller recognised the battery immediately, BMS communication established without error codes, and charge current stepped correctly through CC and CV phases to full capacity.
- Post-install calibration on Chrome OS: After fitting, run the Chromebook down to automatic hibernate cutoff — do not force-shut it — then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
Why Chrome OS reports poor battery health immediately after a swap
The Asus embedded controller stores charge cycle count and health data in EEPROM on the battery's protection circuit. When a new cell arrives, that EEPROM carries factory defaults that don't match the host system's learned parameters. Chrome OS reads those values and flags the battery as degraded before a single cycle runs. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the learn cycle to overwrite stale EEPROM data with real figures from the new cell.
Chromebook C425TA shutting down at 20–30% charge shown
This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The IC inherited calibration data from the old, degraded cell, so it misreads the voltage cliff and triggers a low-battery shutdown well before the cell is empty. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles without interrupting. After the third cycle the fuel gauge re-maps the curve to the new cell and the shutdown threshold drops back to the correct level near 5–8% charge remaining.

Frequently Asked Questions
Chrome OS is showing "battery health: poor" on a brand-new replacement — is the cell actually faulty?
No — the embedded controller reads health data stored in EEPROM on the protection circuit, and a fresh cell carries factory defaults that don't match the Chromebook's learned parameters. Chrome OS interprets those defaults as a worn battery. Run the Chromebook down to automatic hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single learn cycle overwrites the stale EEPROM data and clears the false health warning.
The battery percentage jumps around wildly for the first couple of days — sometimes dropping 15% in minutes, then barely moving for an hour. What's happening?
The fuel gauge IC on the C425TA is still calibrating against the new cell's actual voltage-versus-capacity curve. It spent its last cycles learning a degraded cell, so its map no longer matches what this chemistry delivers. Run two or three complete discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by full uninterrupted charges. By the third cycle the gauge re-maps to the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.
System info shows the battery Wh rating as lower than the 46.78Wh spec — is this a capacity difference or a reporting error?
The Wh figure shown in Chrome OS or the BIOS is pulled from the EEPROM rated value programmed at the factory, which can differ slightly from the actual electrochemical capacity of the replacement cell. This is a reporting discrepancy, not a capacity shortfall — the cell still delivers its full 4050mAh at 11.55V. After one or two full calibration cycles the embedded controller updates its learned Wh estimate closer to the actual cell output.
