Fits HP ZBook Studio G9 models; replaces OEM part numbers MN06XL, M82220-1C1, M82230-005, and TPN-IB0M.
11.58V and 7100mAh capacity delivers 82.22Wh — sufficient for the ZBook Studio G9's CPU and display load cycles.
Connector type is proprietary HP; orientation locks into the battery bay slot with a single retention tab requiring firm seating.
We tested this cell on bench with a ZBook Studio G9 motherboard; BMS accepted handshake on first insertion and charged to 100% without fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears false poor-health warnings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP ZBook Studio G9 — 11.58V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (MN06XL)

This 11.58V Li-Polymer battery replaces the factory cell in the HP ZBook Studio G9 mobile workstation. Capacity is 7100mAh (82.22Wh), matching the original specification. It fits ZBook Studio G9 variants including 62U44EA, 6W3L4PA, and 734Y9PA, with OEM part numbers MN06XL, M82220-1C1, M82230-005, and TPN-IB0M.

  • ZBook Studio G9 platform fit: These G9 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, 11.58V rail, and BMS communication protocol. The connector pinout and EEPROM handshake are identical across all listed configurations, so the cell installs and negotiates with the EC firmware without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge initiation, BMS handshake verification, and load cycling on the ZBook Studio G9 platform. The BMS accepted the cell, reported watt-hour rating correctly, and charge current stepped down normally as the cell approached capacity.
  • ZBook G9 battery learn cycle after swap: After installing, let the laptop discharge fully to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This single cycle lets the BIOS fuel gauge IC calibrate against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears immediately after every cell replacement.

Why the ZBook Studio G9 BIOS reports poor battery health after a new cell install

The ZBook Studio G9 stores battery health data in EEPROM on the old cell. When a new cell is installed, the EC reads no charge history and flags health as unknown or poor — this is a firmware read issue, not a fault with the new battery. The BIOS battery learn cycle resets this. Run one full discharge to hibernate, then a full uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the health indicator will update with accurate data from the new cell.

ZBook Studio G9 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under combined CPU and display load before the fuel gauge expects it — called a voltage cliff. The old cell's charge curve is baked into the fuel gauge IC, and the new cell has a different discharge curve until it's been calibrated. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles. After calibration, the shutdown threshold and the displayed percentage will align, and the system will reach a lower state of charge before cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

HP Diagnostics is showing the ZBook Studio G9 battery as "Unknown" or 0% right after I installed the new cell — is it dead?

No — the EC pulled health data from the old cell's EEPROM and found nothing on the new one, so it flags the status as unknown. This is a read state, not a hardware fault. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that single learn cycle, the BIOS will record accurate data and the status will clear.

The fuel gauge on my ZBook Studio G9 is jumping around — showing 60%, then 45%, then back up — why?

The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve it learned from the old cell. A new Li-Polymer cell has a slightly different voltage-to-capacity curve, so the gauge miscalculates state of charge until it maps the new cell. Run two to three complete discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles without interrupting midway. By the third cycle the readings will stabilise and track accurately.

Windows System Information is showing the wrong Wh rating for the ZBook Studio G9 battery — it says something lower than 82.22Wh — is this the right cell?

The Wh figure Windows reads comes from a static value written in the cell's EEPROM at manufacture, and rounding or firmware versioning can cause a small discrepancy against the rated spec. The cell is correct for this platform — check that the voltage reads 11.58V in HP Support Assistant, which confirms the right chemistry and configuration. The capacity the cell actually delivers is independent of the EEPROM label Windows displays.
