Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Clevo NH70RCQ Series — 14.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (6-87-NH50S-41C00)
This is a 14.6V, 2750mAh (40.15Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Clevo NH70RCQ gaming notebook and a wide range of NH-series variants including the NH57RA, NH58RC, and NH58RHQ. It replaces OEM part numbers 6-87-NH50S-41C00 and NH50BAT-4. Capacity figures are taken directly from the product data — not estimated from third-party sources.
- NH-series platform fit: These models share a common 14.6V four-cell architecture with the same connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. The replacement cell matches that voltage rail and communication spec, so the system recognises the battery without firmware workarounds.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under combined CPU and display load to verify the BMS cutoff thresholds. The protection circuit responded correctly at both the low-voltage floor and charge termination point, with no false-trip events during the load transitions.
- First-cycle calibration on the NH70RCQ: After fitting, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor after fitting a new cell
The NH-series BIOS reads health data stored in the battery's EEPROM. When you swap the cell, the EEPROM data no longer matches the charge history the BIOS has been tracking, so it flags the battery as degraded even though the cell is new. This is not a fault with the replacement — it is a data mismatch. Running one complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by a full uninterrupted charge gives the BIOS enough cycle data to recalculate and clear the warning. Most units correct the health readout within two to three full cycles.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge IC inherited calibration data from the old, degraded cell, so its 20–30% estimate corresponds to a voltage that the new cell has not yet reached — but under full CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops sharply and the BMS triggers a hard shutdown before the gauge catches up. The fix is the same learn cycle: one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After two to three full cycles the gauge IC re-anchors its empty-cell reference voltage and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My NH70RCQ shows the replacement battery as "0%" or "unknown" in Windows — is the cell dead?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on this platform reads EEPROM data from the old battery and does not immediately recognise the new cell's charge state. Plug in the AC adapter and leave it to charge uninterrupted to 100%, then let the notebook discharge fully to hibernate-cutoff. After one complete cycle the fuel gauge re-initialises against the new cell and Windows reports a normal percentage again.
System info shows the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it says a different capacity than 40.15Wh
The Wh figure Windows or HWiNFO displays is pulled from the EEPROM embedded in the battery pack, not measured in real time. The EEPROM stores the rated design capacity from the cell manufacturer, which can differ slightly from the tested capacity figure in the product listing. This is a data read difference, not a fault. To confirm the actual deliverable capacity, run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle and check the "last full charge" value in Windows Battery Report — that figure reflects real measured capacity after the fuel gauge has calibrated.
The NH70RCQ stops charging at 80% and will not go higher — is there a fault with the replacement?
This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a battery fault. Clevo's NH-series firmware includes a battery conservation mode that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear during long periods on AC power. Check the Clevo Control Center or your system's power management utility — there will be a toggle to switch between conservation mode and full-charge mode. Set it to full charge, unplug and replug the adapter, and the cell will charge to 100%.
