Fits Clevo P960RD and N950TD; replaces OEM part N950BAT-6.
11.1V 5050mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 56.06Wh — enough capacity for standard workday computing on this mobile workstation.
Connector slides straight into the bay with a single locking tab on the left side; verify the clip seats flush before closing the hatch.
We bench-tested this cell in the P960RD; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and charged to full without cutoff or thermal throttle.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Clevo P960RD / N950TD Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (N950BAT-6)

This is a 11.1V, 5050mAh (56.06Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Clevo P960RD, N950TD, N957KP6, and N957TP6 gaming laptops. It replaces OEM part number N950BAT-6. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge or the system refuses to run unplugged.

  • P960RD / N950 platform fit: These models share the same voltage rail, physical connector, and BMS handshake protocol under the N950BAT-6 spec. One replacement cell covers the full platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an N950-series board and confirmed the BMS negotiated charge correctly, reported capacity to the EC, and did not trigger an early protection cutoff under sustained CPU and GPU load.
  • First-cycle calibration after swap: After installing, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Why the BIOS flags the new N950BAT-6 as poor health on first boot

The BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM on every boot. A new cell ships with factory EEPROM values that don't match the old cell's learned profile, so the system flags it as degraded before any calibration has occurred. This is a data mismatch, not a faulty battery. Run one complete discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted full charge. After that cycle, the BIOS recalculates health against the new cell's actual data and the warning clears.

Laptop shuts down hard at 20–30% shown on the fuel gauge

The fuel gauge IC calibrates its empty-point estimate against historical cell behaviour. After a swap, it still uses the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve, which means it misjudges the actual voltage cliff. When the new cell drops below roughly 10.8V under combined CPU and display load, the protection circuit cuts power before the gauge reaches zero. The fix is two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles — each one teaches the fuel gauge IC where the real low-voltage floor sits and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Clevo BIOS is showing the replacement N950BAT-6 as 0% or "Unknown" — is the cell dead?

The BIOS pulls capacity and health data directly from the battery's EEPROM, and a new cell's factory values don't match the profile the system previously learned. This is a calibration gap, not a dead cell. Run a full discharge to hibernate, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that single learn cycle, the BIOS reads the corrected EEPROM data and the 0% or Unknown status clears.

Windows is showing a wildly wrong Wh rating for this battery — it says 62Wh or some other number, not 56.06Wh

The Wh figure Windows displays comes from the rated value stored in the battery's EEPROM, which can differ slightly from the actual measured chemistry of the replacement cell. This is a data-layer mismatch between what the EEPROM declares and what the fuel gauge IC measures under real load. It does not affect charging or protection behaviour. After two full discharge-and-charge cycles, the fuel gauge IC recalculates against actual cell output and the reported Wh figure settles closer to the 56.06Wh spec.

Charge is stopping at 80% and won't go higher — is the new cell faulty?

This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Clevo and many OEM firmware builds include a battery conservation mode that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress — and that setting persists after a battery swap. Check the Clevo Control Center or your BIOS power settings for a "Battery Charge Limit" or "Conservation Mode" option and set it to 100%. Once disabled, a full charge cycle will confirm the cell reaches capacity correctly.
