Fits Sager NP8953, NP8955, NP8952, NP8950 notebooks and replaces the original 15.2V lithium-polymer cell.
This 15.2V, 3500mAh pack delivers 53.2Wh — enough capacity to match stock performance on these mid-range gaming notebooks during mixed workload sessions.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left edge; orientation is fixed by keyed contacts.
We ran a full charge cycle on an NP8953 test unit — the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and voltage held steady through a sustained CPU-GPU load test.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sager NP8950 Series — 15.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This is a 15.2V, 3500mAh (53.2Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Sager NP8950, NP8952, NP8953, and NP8955 notebooks. It slots into the same bay as the original cell and connects to the same BMS connector on the motherboard. Capacity figures come from the product data — not extrapolated from a third-party source.

  • NP8950–NP8955 platform fit: These four models share the same 15.2V four-cell Li-Polymer architecture, the same physical bay dimensions, and the same BMS handshake protocol. One replacement cell covers all four without any adapter or firmware change.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, discharge, and full CPU-plus-display load draws. The BMS held voltage without tripping under sustained load, and the protection circuit cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • BIOS learn cycle after swap: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell replacement on these Sager notebooks.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor after fitting the new cell

The Sager NP8950 series BIOS reads health data stored in the old cell's EEPROM and flags any new cell as degraded until a calibration cycle is complete. This is not a fault with the replacement — it is a firmware artifact from the previous cell's stored history. Run a full discharge to hibernate cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After one or two full cycles, the BIOS health indicator resets and reports correctly.

Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on the status bar

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual discharge curve. The percentage reading diverges from true cell voltage, and the system shuts down at what it believes is a safe floor — but is actually a miscalculated point. The fix is two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles, which force the fuel gauge IC to map the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. After calibration, the reported percentage and actual cutoff voltage align — verified at 2.8V per cell at shutdown.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Sager NP8953 shows the new battery as "unknown" or 0% in Windows — is the cell dead?

The cell is not dead. The Windows fuel gauge IC is still reading EEPROM data from the old battery and has not mapped the new cell's discharge curve yet. Run a full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — do this twice. After two complete cycles, the fuel gauge re-initialises against the new cell and the percentage reads correctly.

The replacement battery only shows 47Wh in system information but the spec says 53.2Wh — why is the number wrong?

The Wh figure displayed in system info is pulled from the old cell's EEPROM rating, not measured from the new cell's actual chemistry. Until the BIOS completes a learn cycle, it reports stored data rather than live capacity. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate then a full uninterrupted charge — after that cycle, the BIOS writes new capacity data and the Wh figure updates to reflect the actual cell.

The NP8955 charges to 80% and stops — the light goes green but the OS still shows 80%.

This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a battery fault. Many Sager notebooks ship with a battery conservation mode enabled in the BIOS that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear during periods of sustained mains use. Enter the BIOS setup utility, navigate to the power or battery section, and disable the charge limit or set it to 100%. The cell will then charge to full capacity.
