Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Clevo Premium TV XS3210 / W940S — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (6-87-W940S)
This is an 11.1V, 2200mAh (24.42Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Clevo Premium TV XS3210 and W940S notebooks. It slots into the same bay as the factory cell and connects to the same BMS circuit. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge between AC connections.
- XS3210 and W940S platform fit: Both models share the same 6-87-W940S battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. OEM part numbers 6-87-W940S-424, W940BAT-3, and W940BAT-6 are all revisions of the same physical cell — they fit the same bay without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge-discharge cycles on a W940S-class board. The BMS negotiated correctly, the fuel gauge registered cell presence without error flags, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at over-discharge threshold.
- BIOS learn cycle after install: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
Why the XS3210 BIOS flags a new battery as poor health on first boot
The W940S platform stores battery health data in EEPROM on the battery PCB. When you swap cells, the BIOS reads the blank or mismatched EEPROM and logs a health warning — it has nothing to do with the new cell's actual condition. The firmware needs at least one full charge-discharge cycle to rewrite calibration data. Until that cycle completes, Windows battery health tools and the BIOS setup screen will both report inaccurate figures.
XS3210 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This is a voltage cliff symptom — the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage on screen does not match the actual cell voltage. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts, and the BMS cuts power before the OS can hibernate. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by uninterrupted charges to 100%. After the second cycle, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell and the shutdown-at-30% behaviour stops. Confirm recovery by checking battery voltage in a hardware monitor — it should read above 10.8V at the point the gauge shows 20%.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Clevo XS3210 BIOS shows the replacement battery as "Unknown" or 0% right after install — is the cell dead?
No. The W940S platform reads battery identity from EEPROM data stored on the battery PCB. A new cell has blank or factory-default EEPROM, which the BIOS cannot match to its expected profile — so it reports unknown or zero. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100%. That cycle writes the calibration data the BIOS needs, and the reading corrects itself.
System info on the XS3210 shows the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it says something different from 24.42Wh. Is it the wrong cell?
The Wh figure in Windows or HWInfo is pulled from the battery's EEPROM design capacity field, which may reflect a previous revision's rated value rather than the actual chemistry in this cell. The physical cell is correct for this platform. After two full calibration cycles the reported value typically converges closer to the actual 24.42Wh — but a small discrepancy between EEPROM-rated and measured capacity is normal across W940BAT-3 and W940BAT-6 revisions.
The XS3210 fuel gauge jumps around wildly — shows 60%, then 45%, then 70% within minutes of unplugging. What is causing that?
The fuel gauge IC on this platform calibrates its discharge curve model against the old cell. With a new cell fitted, the IC's internal model does not yet match the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity curve, so percentage readings are unstable. This settles after two to three full discharge-to-100%-charge cycles as the IC rewrites its curve data. Do not interrupt the charges mid-way — partial cycles extend the number of cycles needed before the gauge stabilises.
