Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell Vostro 3511 / Inspiron 5418 — 11.25V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (G91J0)
This is an 11.25V, 3500mAh (39.38Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Dell Vostro 3511 and several Inspiron models. It replaces OEM part number G91J0. Fit models include the Vostro 3515, Inspiron 5418, and Inspiron 5515, among others.
- Multi-model G91J0 platform: The Vostro 3511, Vostro 3515, Inspiron 5418, and Inspiron 5515 share the same 11.25V three-cell Li-Polymer pack, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one part number covers all of them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge-discharge cycles on the Vostro 3511 platform. The BMS negotiated charge termination correctly at full voltage, and protection circuits triggered as expected at low-voltage cutoff without false trips.
- Post-swap learn cycle on Dell BIOS: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the Dell BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell, clearing the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after replacement
Dell's BIOS reads battery health from EEPROM data stored in the pack, not from live cell measurements. A new cell ships with factory EEPROM values that don't match the discharge history the BIOS expects to see, so it flags the battery as degraded. This is a calibration gap, not a fault. Run the learn cycle — one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then a full uninterrupted charge — and the BIOS recalculates health against the actual cell. After one complete cycle, the health indicator should clear.
Laptop shuts down suddenly while battery percentage still shows 20–30%
This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated to the new cell's actual voltage-capacity curve. The displayed percentage is based on stale data, so the reading is optimistic right up to the voltage cliff. Under combined CPU and display load, cell voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts, and the system shuts down to protect the hardware before the screen shows zero. Complete two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles to let the fuel gauge IC map the new cell accurately. After calibration, the shutdown threshold should align with the displayed percentage within a few percent.

Frequently Asked Questions
Dell BIOS shows the new battery as "unknown" or 0% — is the cell dead on arrival?
No. The BIOS reads identity data from the battery's EEPROM, and a fresh replacement cell carries factory values that don't match what the system logged from the old pack. The battery isn't faulty — the BIOS just hasn't run its learn cycle against the new chemistry. Discharge the laptop fully until it hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the BIOS will re-register the cell correctly.
System info shows the wrong Wh rating after swapping to this G91J0 replacement — is that a problem?
The Wh figure shown in Windows or Dell SupportAssist is pulled from the EEPROM embedded in the battery pack, which stores the manufacturer's rated value. The actual measured capacity can differ slightly from that rated figure due to normal cell chemistry tolerances. This mismatch is a reporting difference, not a fault, and it doesn't affect charge or discharge behaviour. Run one full learn cycle and the reported figure will settle closer to the 39.38Wh spec.
New battery won't charge above 80% on the Vostro 3511 — what's causing that?
This is almost always Dell's BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault with the cell. Dell systems running certain firmware versions cap charging at 80% by default to reduce long-term cell stress when the laptop sits plugged in for extended periods. Open Dell Power Manager (or Dell SupportAssist), navigate to Battery Settings, and switch the charge mode from "Primarily AC" or "Custom" to "Adaptive" or "Full Charge." The cap will lift and the battery will charge to 100%.
