Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer Aspire 5 A515-43 Series — 15.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AP19B5L)
This is a 15.4V, 3500mAh (53.9Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Acer Aspire 5 A515-43 series notebooks. It fits the A515-43-R1JF, A515-43-R41R, A515-43-R61P, A515-43-R8JP, and over 145 additional Aspire 5 variants sharing the same connector and BMS handshake. OEM part numbers AP19B5L and KT00405010 both apply.
- A515-43 platform fitment: All A515-43 variants in this generation share the same 15.4V four-cell Li-Polymer architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — which is why one part number covers the full production run across CPU and GPU SKUs.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an A515-43 unit and monitored BMS handshake acknowledgement, charge termination at full capacity, and thermal behaviour under sustained CPU load. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags and terminated charge correctly at 15.4V.
- Post-install recalibration on the Aspire 5: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears in Acer Care Center after any cell swap.
Why the Aspire 5 reports poor battery health immediately after replacement
The A515-43's BIOS reads stored EEPROM data from the old cell and compares it against the new cell's reported state-of-charge on first boot. Because the EEPROM history doesn't match the fresh cell, the system logs a health warning before any calibration has occurred. This is a firmware artefact — not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge gives the fuel gauge IC a complete data set to work from. After two to three cycles the BIOS health status will update and the warning clears.
Aspire 5 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under combined CPU and display load, even though the OS fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge IC has not yet mapped the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve, so it misreports remaining capacity. The cell hits its minimum voltage cliff before the OS predicts it should. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles, charging fully between each, and the fuel gauge IC will recalibrate its curve to match the actual cell chemistry — shutdowns at false percentages will stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Acer Care Center app is showing "Replace Battery" the moment I booted up with the new cell — is the replacement already dead?
It isn't. The Aspire 5 BIOS pulls health data from the old cell's EEPROM and flags a mismatch the instant it sees a new cell with no history. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single learn cycle gives the BIOS enough data to reassess, and the warning clears within two to three cycles.
Windows battery report is showing the new cell's Wh rating as lower than the official Acer spec — why doesn't it match?
The Wh figure Windows reads comes from EEPROM data written at manufacture, which reflects rated chemistry values rather than the cell's actual measured capacity. The AP19B5L is rated at 53.9Wh in the product data, and that is the correct reference. If the system report shows a different figure in the first few cycles, recalibrate by running a full discharge-to-hibernate then a full charge — the reported value stabilises once the fuel gauge IC has a real measured baseline.
My Aspire 5 stops charging at 80% and won't go higher — did I get a faulty cell?
Almost certainly not. Acer's BIOS includes a charge limit feature that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during long plugged-in sessions. Check Acer Care Center or the MyAcer app for a "Battery Care Mode" or "Battery Limit" toggle — it is enabled by default on some firmware versions. Disable that setting, unplug and reconnect the charger, and the cell will charge to 100%.
