Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fujitsu LifeBook E2010 / FMV-7180MR3 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (FM-36)

This is a 14.4V, 4400mAh (63.36Wh) Li-ion battery for Fujitsu FMV and LifeBook notebooks. It fits the FMV-7180MR3, LifeBook E7010, LifeBook E2010, FMV-BIBLO MR16B, and seven additional models in the same series. OEM cross-references are FM-36, FPCBP59AP, and FPCBP59.

  • FMV / LifeBook E-series platform fit: These models share the same 14.4V battery rail, physical connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single cell covers the full range. The battery communicates charge state and health data over the same SMBus line across all listed variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a LifeBook E-series unit. The BMS handshake completed on first insertion, the BIOS recognised the pack without prompting a fault code, and the charge circuit cycled correctly from depleted to full.
  • First-install cycle on Fujitsu notebooks: After fitting this battery, run the laptop on battery power until it hibernates from low charge — do not interrupt. Then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

Why the FMV-7180MR3 shuts down at 20–30% charge remaining

The BIOS fuel gauge IC on this platform maps voltage curves against data stored from the original cell. A new cell with a slightly different discharge curve hits a voltage threshold the firmware interprets as critically low — even though charge physically remains. The laptop cuts power before the cell is actually depleted. Running two full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted-recharge cycles recalibrates the fuel gauge against the new cell's actual voltage curve. After calibration, the shutdown point drops back to the correct low-charge threshold, typically below 5%.

BIOS reporting 0% or "poor health" immediately after battery swap

This happens because the BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers on the battery pack — and the new cell's EEPROM values do not match the wear history the firmware was tracking on the old pack. The system flags the mismatch as a fault rather than a fresh cell. It is not a hardware fault with the replacement battery. Boot into the Fujitsu battery utility or run a full discharge-and-recharge cycle to prompt the BIOS to write new baseline data to its registers, clearing the warning.

Frequently Asked Questions

The FMV-7180MR3 fuel gauge is jumping around — shows 60%, then 40%, then 75% within minutes. What's causing it?

The fuel gauge IC on this platform calibrates against the discharge curve of the cell it learned on. A new cell has a different curve, so the IC's stored voltage-to-percentage map is wrong until it re-learns. Run two full cycles — discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% each time. After the second cycle, the gauge stabilises.

Windows shows the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it reads lower than the 63.36Wh listed. Is the battery faulty?

The Wh figure Windows reports is pulled from the EEPROM on the battery pack, not measured in real time. Aftermarket cells carry EEPROM values from the manufacturing batch, which can differ from the rated spec. The actual deliverable energy matches the cell chemistry — the displayed number is a register value, not a live measurement. No fix is needed; the discrepancy does not affect charge or discharge behaviour.

New battery fitted but the LifeBook E2010 won't charge above 80% — charger light stays on but percentage stops climbing.

Some Fujitsu BIOS versions include a charge limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear during long-term AC use. Check the Fujitsu battery utility or BIOS power settings under the battery or AC adapter section. Toggle the charge limit off, then unplug and reconnect the AC adapter to force a fresh charge cycle. The battery will then charge to 100%.
