This is an 11.55V, 4500mAh (51.98Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the HP Pavilion Gaming 15 series. It fits the Pavilion Gaming 15-ec0020ng and over 150 compatible models sharing the same connector and BMS handshake, including the 15-DK0397NIA and 15-DK1037TX. OEM part numbers covered include PG03XL, PG03052XL, HSTNN-DB9G, L48430-AC1, and L48485-005.
- Pavilion Gaming 15 platform fit: These models share a three-cell Li-Polymer architecture, the same 11.55V nominal rail, and an identical BMS handshake. The EEPROM on this cell carries the correct capacity data so the HP firmware recognises it without throwing an unknown-device flag at POST.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on a 15-ec series unit. Run those cycles without interrupting mid-charge, and the gauge will stabilise.
New battery fitted, but the Pavilion Gaming 15 won't charge above 80% — is the cell defective?
This is almost always the BIOS charge-limit setting, not a cell fault. HP laptops ship with an optional charge-limit feature that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress — if this was enabled on the previous battery, the setting persists after a swap.
