Fits HP Presario B1900, B1903TU, B1904TU, B1905TU and replaces HNB0775, HSTNN-DB36.
14.4V, 2400mAh (34.56Wh) — matches OEM output; sustains full CPU load under display brightness.
Connector seats parallel to mainboard; locking tab clicks left; no force needed to seat fully.
We bench-tested against OEM pack; BMS accepted charge cycle without fault codes or voltage sag.
After install, discharge to hibernation cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after cell replacement.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Presario B1900 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HNB0775)

This 14.4V, 2400mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in HP Presario B1900 series notebooks. It fits the B1900, B1903TU, B1904TU, B1905TU, and several additional B1900-series variants. OEM part numbers HNB0775 and HSTNN-DB36 both cross-reference to this cell.

  • B1900 series compatibility: HP used the same 14.4V battery rail and connector across the B1900 lineup. Every model in this series draws from the same voltage spec, so one cell covers all variants without adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on B1900-class hardware. The BMS communicated correctly with the system board, accepted a full charge without tripping, and held voltage under sustained CPU and display load.
  • First-install discharge cycle: After fitting this battery, run the laptop on battery only until it hibernates at cutoff — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This single cycle resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after a cell swap.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after install

The BIOS stores charge history and health data from the previous cell in its battery learn table. When a new cell goes in, that stale data makes the system flag the replacement as degraded before it has run a single cycle. This is a firmware state issue, not a fault with the cell itself. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% clears the old learn data and lets the BIOS re-evaluate the new cell correctly.

Laptop shuts down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the old, degraded cell. The percentage displayed does not reflect actual remaining capacity in the new cell, and the system cuts power before the real low-voltage threshold is reached. Run two to three full discharge-and-recharge cycles to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's actual voltage curve. After calibration, the gauge should track accurately down toward the 10.8–11V low-voltage cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Presario B1900 shows the new battery as "0% available (plugged in, not charging)" — what's happening?

The BIOS fuel gauge IC is reading EEPROM data written by the old cell, which can cause the charge state to lock at 0% on first install. Disconnect the AC adapter, remove the battery, hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain residual board voltage, then refit the battery and reconnect AC. This forces the BIOS to re-initialise communication with the cell and the charge state should update correctly within a few minutes.

System info shows the wrong Wh rating — it lists the old battery's capacity, not 34.56Wh. Is the cell faulty?

The Wh figure shown in Windows or HP's battery diagnostics pulls from EEPROM data embedded in the battery pack, not from a live measurement. A replacement cell carries its own EEPROM values, which may differ from what the previous pack reported. This is a data display difference between the old pack's stored values and the new cell's — it does not affect how the battery charges or how much energy it actually delivers. Confirm real capacity by running a full discharge cycle and checking that runtime aligns with a 34.56Wh cell.

New battery charges to 100% once, then every subsequent charge stops at 79–80% — is this a charger fault?

HP's BIOS on several Presario-era notebooks includes a battery care charge limit that caps charging at around 80% to reduce long-term cell wear. This setting is controlled in BIOS, not by the charger or the battery itself. Enter BIOS setup at boot, locate the Battery Care Function or similar power setting, and disable it — the next charge cycle will run to 100%.
