Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo 10W-82ST Tablet — 7.68V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L21D2PG1)
This 7.68V, 3750mAh (28.8Wh) Li-Polymer battery replaces the original L21D2PG1 cell in the Lenovo 10W-82ST tablet. It fits the full 82ST model range, including regional variants 82ST0000JP, 82ST0001CC, and 82ST0001CF, among others. Compatible OEM part numbers also include 5B11F38381, L21C2PG1, L21L2PG1, and L21M2PG1.
- 82ST variant compatibility: All 82ST models share the same battery bay dimensions (188.90 × 84.35 × 4.40mm), connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The cell voltage rail at 7.68V is consistent across every regional SKU, so one part number covers the full production run.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, full-load discharge, and BMS communication checks. The protection circuit responded correctly to over-current and low-voltage cutoff thresholds, and the fuel gauge IC initialised without error flags.
- Post-install calibration on the 10W tablet: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge until the tablet hibernates at cutoff voltage, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
Why the 10W-82ST shuts down at 20–30% after a battery swap
The fuel gauge IC on the 82ST builds its discharge curve against the original cell's EEPROM data. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual chemistry, so the gauge miscalculates remaining capacity. Under combined CPU and display load, the tablet hits what looks like 20–30% on screen but is actually the cell's real voltage floor. Running two to three full charge-discharge cycles recalibrates the gauge against the new cell and the premature shutdowns stop.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor or unknown immediately after fitting
This is an EEPROM mismatch, not a fault with the replacement cell. The BIOS reads health data written to the old cell's EEPROM and compares it against the new cell's output — the values don't align, so it flags a warning. Boot into the Lenovo Vantage app or the BIOS power settings and run the battery gauge reset function. After one full learn cycle, the BIOS reads the new cell correctly and the health warning clears. If Vantage is not installed, a full discharge to hibernate cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% achieves the same reset.

Frequently Asked Questions
The 10W tablet shows the new battery at 0% and won't read it at all — is the cell dead out of the box?
Almost certainly not. The fuel gauge IC is still locked to the old cell's EEPROM profile and hasn't initialised against the new one. Plug in the charger and leave it connected for at least 30 minutes before powering on — the BMS needs a charge stimulus to complete handshake with the system board. If the gauge still reads 0% after that, run the battery reset in Lenovo Vantage, which forces the BIOS to re-learn the cell from scratch.
Windows is showing this battery as 28.8Wh but the system info page says something different — which is right?
The 28.8Wh figure from the cell's actual chemistry is correct. What the system info page sometimes shows is the Wh value stored in the old cell's EEPROM, which gets cached by the BIOS across a swap. The discrepancy is a reporting artefact, not a capacity defect. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle and then a full charge; the BIOS re-reads the live cell data and the reported Wh value updates to match the physical cell.
Charging stops at around 80% and the indicator light goes solid — is this a faulty cell or the tablet?
This is almost always the Lenovo Conservation Mode firmware setting, not a cell fault. The 82ST BIOS ships with a charge threshold that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress when the tablet is left plugged in. Open Lenovo Vantage, go to Power, and check the battery charge threshold setting. Switch it from Conservation Mode to Normal Mode and the charge will resume to 100%.
