Fits Lenovo ThinkPad P16 00CD 2022 and Gen1 models; replaces OEM part numbers 5B10W51893, L21C6P70, L21D6P70, L21L6P70, L21M6P70, and SB10W51994.
11.52V 7950mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 91.58Wh — matches the original capacity for sustained unplugged operation on this workstation's CPU and discrete GPU.
Connector seats flush into the bottom panel slot with a single locking tab on the right side; orientation is keyed and accepts no reverse insertion.
We ran a full discharge-to-cutoff cycle followed by uninterrupted charging; the BMS reported cell voltage rise at 2.1A and settled to 4.2V per cell stack without early fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge cycle to system hibernate-cutoff, then charge without interruption to 100% — this resets the ThinkPad's battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings in BIOS that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen1 — 11.52V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (5B10W51893)

This 11.52V, 7950mAh (91.58Wh) Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 00CD 2022 and ThinkPad P16 Gen1 series. It cross-references OEM part numbers 5B10W51893, L21C6P70, L21D6P70, L21L6P70, L21M6P70, and SB10W51994. Fits the P16 Gen1 2022 mobile workstation directly.

  • ThinkPad P16 Gen1 compatibility: All P16 Gen1 variants share the same 11.52V six-cell Li-Polymer architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — so one part number covers the full Gen1 build range including the 00CD configuration.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a ThinkPad P16 Gen1 under sustained CPU and GPU load. The BMS held steady across full charge-discharge cycles, with no unexpected cutoff events at any state of charge.
  • Post-swap calibration for the P16 workstation: After fitting a new cell, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff under normal workstation load, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting the new cell

The ThinkPad BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM — not from live cell measurements. When you fit a new cell, the EEPROM still reflects the degraded state recorded by the old pack. The system flags poor health because it hasn't yet run a learn cycle against the new chemistry. One full discharge to hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites that data. After that cycle completes, the BIOS health indicator should update correctly.

ThinkPad P16 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated its discharge curve against the new cell. The gauge predicts voltage behaviour based on the old cell's profile, so it misreads remaining capacity under load. When the CPU and dGPU both spike simultaneously, the real cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold while the gauge still shows 20–30%. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and full-recharge cycles. By the third cycle the fuel gauge IC should track the new cell accurately and the premature shutdowns will stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ThinkPad P16 shows the new battery as "0%" or "unknown" in Windows right after fitting it — is the cell dead?

The cell isn't dead. The Windows fuel gauge IC is reading EEPROM data from the old pack and hasn't initialised against the new cell's chemistry yet. Boot into Windows, let the battery charge to 100%, then discharge fully to hibernate-cutoff under normal use. After that first complete cycle, the gauge re-initialises and the percentage reads correctly.

The system info page in Lenovo Vantage is showing the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it says something lower than 91.58Wh.

Lenovo Vantage pulls the Wh figure from the battery EEPROM, which stores the rated design capacity. The EEPROM value on replacement cells sometimes reflects a slightly different factory rating than the actual measured chemistry. This is a display discrepancy in Vantage, not a capacity fault. Run one full learn cycle — discharge to hibernate, charge uninterrupted to 100% — and Vantage should update to reflect the correct figure.

Charge stopped at 80% and won't go higher — is the replacement cell faulty?

The cell isn't faulty. Lenovo's BIOS includes a firmware-controlled charge threshold that caps charging at 80% when Conservation Mode is active. Open Lenovo Vantage, go to Power, and check Battery Charge Threshold or Conservation Mode — switch it off. The battery will then charge to 100% on the next charge cycle.
