Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 2 / X13 Gen 2 — 15.36V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L20M4P72)
This is a 15.36V, 3500mAh (53.76Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 2 and ThinkPad X13 Gen 2. It replaces OEM part numbers L20M4P72, L20D4P72, L20C4P72, L20l4P72, 5B10X55571, SB10W51916, and 5B10T52815. Correct cell chemistry and connector pinout match the original so the BIOS recognises the replacement without driver changes.
- T14s Gen 2 and X13 Gen 2 platform fit: Both the T14s Gen 2 and X13 Gen 2 use the same 15.36V four-cell Li-Polymer pack, the same BMS handshake protocol, and the same physical connector. One SKU covers both chassis without any modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a T14s Gen 2 chassis under mixed CPU and display load. The BMS held voltage above the low-cell cutoff threshold across full discharge, and charge termination triggered correctly at 100% without overrun.
- Post-install calibration on ThinkPad firmware: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to record the new cell's capacity curve and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on ThinkPad firmware.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after replacement
ThinkPad firmware stores charge history and wear data in EEPROM on the battery controller. When a new cell goes in, that EEPROM data is blank or mismatched against the old cell's logged history. The BIOS reads this as degraded health rather than a fresh cell. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% triggers the learn cycle and rewrites the EEPROM baseline against the new cell's actual capacity.
Laptop shuts down abruptly when the gauge still shows 20–30% remaining
This is a voltage cliff — under full CPU plus display load, the cell's terminal voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC can track. The gauge IC is still reading an averaged state-of-charge while the actual cell voltage has already fallen below the BMS cutoff threshold. It is more common in the first two to three cycles after a swap because the fuel gauge IC has not yet mapped the new cell's discharge curve. Run two to three full discharge-to-charge cycles and the shutoff point should stabilise well below 20%.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 shows the new battery as "0% available (plugged in, not charging)" right after install — what causes that?
The fuel gauge IC on the ThinkPad motherboard is reading EEPROM data from the previous cell and hasn't mapped the new one yet. Disconnect AC, let the laptop discharge fully to hibernate, then reconnect and charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single learn cycle is usually enough for the OS fuel gauge to recognise the replacement cell and report charge correctly.
Windows power report says the battery's last full charge is only 38Wh but the spec says 53.76Wh — is the cell faulty?
The Wh figure in the Windows power report pulls from EEPROM-stored design capacity, which is carried over from the old cell until the BIOS learn cycle runs. It is not a measurement of the new cell's actual capacity. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff followed by a complete charge to 100%, and the reported Wh value should update to reflect the new cell's rated capacity.
Charging stops at 80% and won't go higher — is there something wrong with this battery?
No. ThinkPad BIOS includes a Conservation Mode setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress. It is controlled entirely by firmware, not the battery itself. Open Lenovo Vantage, go to Power → Battery Settings, and switch Conservation Mode off — charging will then proceed to 100%.
