Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Magitronic 600 / 610 / 620 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DR202)

This is a 10.8V, 6600mAh (71.28Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Magitronic 600, 610, and 620 laptop series. It replaces OEM part numbers DR202, EMC36, ME202BB, NL2020, and SMP02. If your original cell no longer holds charge or fails to power the notebook away from the wall, this cell restores portable operation.

  • 600 / 610 / 620 series fit: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 10.8V voltage rail. The BMS communication protocol is identical across the series, so one cell covers all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Magitronic 600 platform. The BMS accepted the cell immediately, reported state-of-charge correctly after two calibration cycles, and held voltage stable under combined CPU and display load without triggering protection cutoff.
  • Post-install calibration cycle: After fitting this cell, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff on battery, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using it again. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the false health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell

The Magitronic 600 BIOS reads health data stored in the battery's EEPROM, not from live cell measurements. When a new cell arrives, the EEPROM values reflect factory defaults that don't match the BIOS's learned data from the old cell. The system flags a mismatch as degraded health. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% lets the BIOS rewrite its reference data against the new cell and clears the warning.

Laptop shuts down abruptly while the OS still shows 20–30% charge remaining

This happens when the fuel gauge IC calibration is misaligned with the new cell's actual capacity curve. The gauge reports 20–30% remaining, but the real cell voltage has already dropped below the threshold the system needs to sustain the CPU and display simultaneously. The fix is a full calibration cycle: discharge the laptop completely to automatic hibernate, then charge to 100% without interruption — repeat this two to three times. After three cycles the gauge IC maps accurately to the new cell and the shutdown behaviour stops.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Magitronic 600 shows the battery Wh rating in system info as lower than the spec — is the cell undersized?

The Wh figure displayed in system info is pulled from the EEPROM on the battery PCB, which holds factory-programmed values that may differ from the actual chemistry in the replacement cell. This is a data mismatch, not a capacity deficiency — the cell delivers the rated 71.28Wh. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles; on most Magitronic 600 platforms the system recalculates and updates the displayed Wh figure after recalibration.

The OS fuel gauge reads wildly different percentages on every boot — sometimes 85%, sometimes 12% for the same charge level. What's wrong?

The fuel gauge IC on the Magitronic 600 motherboard needs several charge-discharge cycles to build an accurate capacity model against the new cell's chemistry. Until it does, it interpolates from stale data left by the old degraded cell, producing erratic percentage readings. Discharge fully to hibernate, then charge to 100% without interruption — repeat this three times consecutively. After the third cycle the gauge IC locks onto the new cell's voltage curve and percentage readings stabilise.

Charging stopped at 80% and won't go higher — is the new battery faulty?

This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a battery fault. Many laptops in this class ship with a battery conservation mode enabled in firmware that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during long periods on AC power. Check the power management settings in the BIOS setup menu or the manufacturer's power utility software and disable the charge threshold or conservation mode setting. Once turned off, the battery will charge to 100%.
