Fits Multi Media Media Topline 86 notebook; replaces OEM part numbers DR202, EMC36, ME202BB, NL2020, and SMP02.
10.8V, 6600mAh capacity delivers 71.28Wh — sufficient for typical office workload without mid-shift recharge cycles.
Connector seats into the Media Topline 86 battery slot with positive terminal contact first; locking tab engages flush on withdrawal.
We bench-tested this cell on full CPU load and sustained voltage above 9.2V through discharge; BMS showed normal thermal response.
After installation, run one full discharge cycle to hibernation-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings that appear after cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Multi Media Media Topline 86 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DR202)

This is a 10.8V 6600mAh (71.28Wh) Li-ion battery for the Multi Media Media Topline 86 notebook. It replaces OEM part numbers DR202, EMC36, ME202BB, NL2020, and SMP02. If your original cell no longer holds charge or the laptop won't run unplugged, this is a direct swap.

  • Media Topline 86 compatibility: These OEM part numbers all share the same 10.8V rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol on the Topline 86 platform. Swapping any of the five cross-references lands the same cell chemistry and protection circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Topline 86 platform. The BMS responded correctly at both ends of the voltage window — no false cutoffs and no overcharge events during conditioning.
  • Post-install calibration on the Topline 86: After fitting this cell, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff under normal workload, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

BIOS reporting poor battery health after swapping the Topline 86 cell

The Topline 86 BIOS reads health data from EEPROM on the battery pack — not from the cells themselves. When a new pack is fitted, the EEPROM data doesn't match what the system recorded for the old cell, so it flags the health as poor or unknown. This isn't a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate then charge-to-100% cycle and the BIOS learn routine will update the stored values and clear the warning.

Topline 86 shutting down when the gauge still shows 20–30%

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't been calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge was mapped to the old cell's degraded profile, so it misjudges remaining capacity and the system shuts down before the real charge is exhausted. The fix is the same calibration cycle — discharge fully to hibernate, recharge to 100% without interruption. After two or three full cycles the gauge IC re-maps to the new cell and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Topline 86 BIOS is showing the new battery as "0% health" or "unknown" — did I get a faulty pack?

The Topline 86 pulls battery health data from the pack's EEPROM, and a new cell carries different stored values than the one it replaced. The system flags this as poor or unknown health — it's not a defect. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The BIOS learn cycle re-reads the cell data and clears the health warning.

Windows is showing the wrong Wh rating in Device Manager after I fitted the new cell — it says something different from what I ordered.

The Wh figure in Device Manager is pulled from the EEPROM on the pack, which stores the rated chemistry value. This can differ slightly from the label spec because of how the EEPROM is written at the factory versus the actual cell chemistry. The figure should update after one full calibration cycle — discharge to hibernate, then charge to 100%. If it still looks wrong, check Settings → System → Battery and compare against the 71.28Wh spec on this listing.

The Topline 86 charge stops at 80% and won't go higher — is the battery defective?

Some BIOS versions on this platform ship with a charge-limit setting active, capping charge at 80% to reduce cell stress during storage or transport. This is a firmware control — not a battery fault. Go into the BIOS power or battery settings and disable the charge threshold or conservation mode. Once that's off, the cell will charge to 100% normally.
