Fits Tiger DesigNote and GT series notebooks; replaces OEM part numbers DR202, EMC36, ME202BB, NL2020, and SMP02.
10.8V and 6600mAh capacity delivers 71.28Wh; matches original pack output for full-load CPU and display draw without thermal throttling.
Connector seats into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left edge; orientation is fixed — reverse insertion is physically blocked.
We bench-tested this cell on a DesigNote unit running sustained CPU load; BMS regulated current smoothly with no early cutoff or voltage cliff observed.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tiger DesigNote Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DR202 / ME202BB)

This is a 10.8V, 6600mAh (71.28Wh) Li-ion battery for Tiger DesigNote series and GT series notebooks. It replaces OEM part numbers DR202, EMC36, ME202BB, NL2020, and SMP02. If your original cell is holding less charge or no longer powering the laptop off-mains, this is the direct swap.

  • DesigNote and GT series fit: Both lines share the same 10.8V three-cell voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single cell covers both. No adapter or firmware change needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, full discharge to hibernate cutoff, and a second full charge. The BMS communicated correctly on each cycle — no false low-battery flags and no premature cutoff at the top of the charge curve.
  • Post-install calibration on the DesigNote: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor after fitting the new cell

The Tiger DesigNote BIOS reads EEPROM data carried over from the old cell and compares it against the new cell's charge profile. Until the learn cycle runs, the health flag stays red regardless of actual cell condition. This is a firmware state, not a battery fault. Run one full discharge to hibernate, then a full uninterrupted charge — the BIOS resets its health baseline on the next boot after that cycle completes.

Laptop shuts down at 20–30% remaining after the battery swap

Under combined CPU and display load, some cells cannot sustain the voltage the BIOS expects at that state of charge — the voltage drops below the cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge reaches zero. On the DesigNote, this usually appears after the first few cycles with a fresh cell because the fuel gauge IC has not yet mapped the new cell's discharge curve. Run two to three full calibration cycles — discharge to hibernate, charge to 100% — and the shutdown point will shift to match actual remaining capacity. If it persists past three cycles, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated fully, as a resistive connection amplifies voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Tiger DesigNote shows 0% or "unknown battery" in Windows right after fitting this cell — is the battery dead on arrival?

It is not. The OS fuel gauge IC is reading EEPROM state data from the previous cell and has not yet mapped the new one. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. After that first complete cycle, the fuel gauge re-initialises against the new cell and the 0% or unknown reading clears.

The battery indicator in Windows is jumping around wildly — 60% one minute, 35% the next — after fitting this replacement. What is causing that?

The fuel gauge IC needs two to three full calibration cycles to build an accurate discharge map for the new cell chemistry. Until that data exists, it interpolates from old reference points and the percentage swings. Discharge fully to hibernate, charge to 100% — repeat that sequence twice more and the gauge stabilises. Do not interrupt the charge mid-cycle during calibration or the IC resets its count.

System information on my DesigNote is showing the wrong Wh rating — lower than the 71.28Wh listed for this battery. Why?

The Wh figure displayed in system info is pulled from the EEPROM on the original cell, not measured from the new one. Until the BIOS completes a full learn cycle, it reports the rated value stored in firmware rather than the actual chemistry of the replacement cell. Run one complete discharge-to-hibernate and full charge cycle — after that, the BIOS recalculates and updates the Wh figure to reflect the actual cell capacity of 71.28Wh.
