Fits Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 series and replaces OEM part numbers FZ-VZSU94K, FZ-VZSU95K, FZ-VZSU95Q, PAFZVZSU95W, FZ-VZSU94R, FZ-VZSU94Q, FZ-VZSU94W, FZ-VZSU95W, FZ-VZSU94, FZ-VZSU0HW, FZ-VZSU95, FZ-VZSU94JS, FZ-VZSU95JS, FZ-VZSU95R.
7.2V lithium-polymer cell rated 3200mAh delivers 23.04Wh total capacity for full-shift tablet operation without mid-day shutdown.
Connector seats flat into the battery bay with positive tab on right; locking clip tabs engage from both sides and require firm seating pressure before closing the cover.
We bench-tested this cell across three charge cycles in the FZ-M1 dock — BMS reported full acceptance on cycle two, no early cutoff at any discharge rate.
After installation, run one complete discharge to hibernation-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 / FZ-B2 — 7.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (FZ-VZSU94K)

This is a 7.2V, 3200mAh (23.04Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1, FZ-M1C, and FZ-B2 rugged tablets. It replaces OEM part numbers FZ-VZSU94K, FZ-VZSU95K, FZ-VZSU95Q, FZ-VZSU94W, FZ-VZSU95W, and related variants. Drop it in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge for a full field shift.

  • FZ-M1 and FZ-B2 compatibility: Both models run the same 7.2V battery rail with an identical connector footprint and BMS handshake protocol. The EEPROM in the replacement cell carries the chemistry and capacity data the tablet firmware expects — no adapter or firmware patch required.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell in an FZ-M1 unit under a mixed CPU and display load. The BMS held the charge curve through to full capacity without tripping the tablet's protection circuit or triggering a low-voltage cutoff prematurely.
  • First-cycle calibration on the FZ-M1: After installing, run one full discharge until the tablet hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle on the FZ-M1 and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears on most cell swaps. Skip this step and the fuel gauge IC will report stale data from the old cell for weeks.

Why the FZ-M1 shuts down at 20–30% after a battery swap

The Toughpad FZ-M1 uses a fuel gauge IC that learns the discharge curve of the installed cell over multiple cycles. When you swap the battery, the IC still has the old cell's voltage-to-capacity map in memory. Under a combined CPU and display load, voltage drops faster than the old map predicts, and the firmware hits its shutdown threshold well before the cell is actually empty. Run two to three full charge-discharge cycles and the gauge recalibrates to the new cell's actual voltage cliff — typically around 6.0V under load.

BIOS reporting battery health as "poor" or "replace soon" immediately after install

This is an EEPROM data mismatch, not a faulty cell. The FZ-M1's battery management firmware reads cycle count and health state from the cell's EEPROM on first contact. A new cell starts with a fresh EEPROM that hasn't completed the learn cycle the BIOS expects to see. The health flag clears after the BIOS completes its battery learn cycle — trigger this by fully discharging to hibernate cutoff and then charging to 100% without interruption. Check the Battery Status page in Panasonic's PC Information Viewer after the first full charge to confirm the flag has cleared.

Frequently Asked Questions

The FZ-M1 shows the new battery as "unknown" or 0% in the OS — is the cell dead?

No — this is the fuel gauge IC reading stale EEPROM data from the previous cell. The tablet hasn't completed a learn cycle against the new cell's chemistry yet. Run a full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle, the OS fuel gauge will sync to the new cell and report accurate state-of-charge.

Why does the FZ-M1 show 23Wh in system info but the battery status screen shows a different rated capacity?

The Wh figure in Panasonic's PC Information Viewer pulls from the EEPROM's rated capacity field, while the OS sometimes reports calculated Wh based on the fuel gauge IC's real-time voltage and current data. These two values won't match until the gauge has calibrated against two or three full cycles on the new cell. After calibration cycles, both figures should converge on 23.04Wh — if they don't, check that the cell EEPROM part number matches FZ-VZSU94K or one of its listed variants.

The FZ-M1 stops charging at around 80% and won't go higher — is this a faulty replacement cell?

Most likely not — the FZ-M1 has a BIOS-controlled charge limit that activates when the tablet detects it has been running on AC power for extended periods, to reduce cell wear. Check the Power Management settings in the Panasonic PC Settings utility and confirm "Battery Charge Mode" is set to "Full Charge" rather than "Long Life" or "80% Charge." Switch it to Full Charge, disconnect and reconnect the AC adapter, and the charge ceiling will lift to 100%.
