Fits Leica CS35 Controller surveying unit; replaces OEM part numbers GEB235 and GEB236.
11.1V output with 9600mAh capacity delivers 106.56Wh to sustain full-shift data collection cycles on site.
Connector orientation matches OEM housing; 155 x 123.20 x 21.30mm slot fits without modification or adapter.
Bench testing on Leica charging dock showed BMS accepting charge within two cycles; voltage stable under survey load.
After installation, run one full discharge to system shutdown then uninterrupted charge to 100% — this resets the controller's battery fuel gauge and clears inaccurate capacity warnings common after cell swaps.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Leica CS35 Controller — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (GEB235 / GEB236)

This is an 11.1V, 9600mAh (106.56Wh) Li-ion battery for the Leica CS35 field surveying controller. It replaces OEM part numbers GEB235 and GEB236. The CS35 uses this cell pack to power GPS data collection and on-site measurements during fieldwork.

  • CS35 platform fit: The GEB235 and GEB236 share the same voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol on the CS35 Controller. Both OEM numbers cross to this cell pack without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the CS35 platform. The BMS communicated state-of-charge correctly and no fault flags triggered during high-draw GPS acquisition loads.
  • CS35 first-cycle calibration: After installing this pack, run the CS35 down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the controller's battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning the CS35 displays after any cell swap.

CS35 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens because the CS35's fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. When the new cell hits the voltage cliff under GPS and display load simultaneously, the pack voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts. The controller reads this as a safe-shutdown threshold and cuts power before the display shows zero. Run two full discharge-to-shutdown cycles followed by uninterrupted full charges — this gives the fuel gauge IC enough data points to remap the curve to the new cell. After the second cycle, the shutdown point typically corrects to below 5% remaining.

CS35 reporting wrong Wh rating in system information after swap

The Wh figure shown in the CS35's system info screen is pulled from EEPROM data stored on the battery's internal circuit board. Replacement cells carry EEPROM values that may differ from the original OEM pack's rated figure, even when actual chemistry and capacity are equivalent. This is a data mismatch between the EEPROM record and what the controller expected — it does not affect charge capacity or field performance. No action is needed, but running the full calibration cycle described above will update the active capacity register the controller uses for charge-level calculations.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CS35 shows "Battery Unknown" or 0% immediately after fitting the new pack — is the cell dead?

The CS35 controller cannot read the new cell's state-of-charge until the fuel gauge IC initialises against it. This "unknown" or 0% display appears because the EEPROM data from the old pack no longer matches what the controller is seeing. Place the CS35 on charge with the new pack installed and leave it uninterrupted until the indicator shows 100% — the gauge IC will initialise during this first full charge and the reading will resolve.

The CS35's battery health indicator still shows "poor" two days after fitting the replacement — what causes that?

The CS35 carries a battery learn cycle in firmware that scores health based on charge and discharge behaviour accumulated over time with the previous cell. A fresh swap resets none of that stored data, so the controller flags the new pack as degraded because it has no discharge history to assess. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. That single cycle writes enough data to the learn cycle for the controller to reassign a correct health status.

New pack charges to 100% on the first cycle, but after two weeks in the field it only reaches 80% before charging stops — what changed?

Charge stopping at 80% on the CS35 is almost always a firmware-controlled charge limit that activates after the controller logs a set number of partial cycles without a full calibration discharge. It is not a fault with the cell itself. Force a full discharge to automatic shutdown in the field, then charge the unit uninterrupted to 100% on the same evening. This resets the cycle counter the CS35 firmware uses to impose that charge ceiling and charging will return to full capacity.
