Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Terrans Force X511-6990-8 Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 14.8V, 5200mAh (76.96Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Terrans Force X511-6990-8 and compatible notebook models. It fits a broad range of Terrans Force laptops sharing the same voltage rail and connector layout, including the X711-1080-67SH1, X511-6970-7, and X511-580-8. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge.
- X511 and X711 series compatibility: These models share the same 14.8V four-cell architecture, identical connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single cell covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a Terrans Force notebook and confirmed the BMS handshake completes correctly, charge acceptance reaches rated capacity, and no false fault codes are thrown during the process.
- Post-install discharge cycle: After fitting this battery, run the laptop on battery alone until it hibernates at cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS to complete a learn cycle against the new cell and clears the inaccurate battery health warning that appears after any cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The Terrans Force BIOS reads health data stored in the battery's EEPROM, not live cell voltage. When you swap cells, the EEPROM data no longer matches the new chemistry, so the BIOS flags it as degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement — it is a stale data mismatch. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a complete uninterrupted charge. After two to three cycles the BIOS recalibrates its stored values and the health warning clears.
Laptop shutting down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge is still mapping charge percentage to the old cell's discharge profile, so it misreads the voltage cliff and triggers shutdown early. The fix is two to three full discharge cycles — let the laptop run on battery until it hibernates each time, then charge fully without interruption. After those cycles the fuel gauge IC realigns its percentage readings to the new cell and the premature shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The system info window is showing the wrong Wh rating after I put the new battery in — is the cell faulty?
The Wh figure shown in system info is pulled from the battery's EEPROM, which stores the rated spec from the original cell's firmware rather than live chemistry data. The replacement cell carries its own EEPROM value of 76.96Wh, and if that differs from what was written on the old pack, the OS will display the new figure and flag it as a mismatch. This is an EEPROM data difference, not a cell fault. Confirm the system reads 76.96Wh after the first full charge cycle completes.
Windows is showing the battery as 0% or "unknown" straight after installation — what's happening?
The fuel gauge IC needs at least one full charge cycle to establish a baseline against the new cell before it can report an accurate state of charge. Plug the laptop in immediately after fitting the battery and let it charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the machine. Once the charge cycle completes, the fuel gauge IC has enough data to begin reporting correctly. If it still reads unknown after a full charge, force a BIOS battery learn cycle by discharging fully to hibernate then recharging to 100%.
The battery charged to 80% and then stopped — the charging indicator went off and Windows says it's full, but it clearly isn't.
Most Terrans Force BIOS versions include a charge limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear during daily desk use. This is a BIOS firmware control, not a fault with the replacement cell. Go into the BIOS power or battery settings menu and look for a charge threshold or battery care mode option — disable it or set the upper limit to 100%. Save and reboot, then plug in again and the charge will continue past 80% to full capacity.
