Fits Magnati OM-A880 payment terminal; replaces OEM battery CS-NEP8210BL.
7.4V, 2600mAh delivers full transaction cycles without mid-sale power loss on this POS device.
Connector slides into vertical slot with mechanical locking tab; orientation marked on terminal housing.
We bench-tested this cell on the OM-A880 charge circuit; BMS accepted handshake on first boot with no fault codes.
After installation, run one complete transaction cycle before live deployment — the terminal calibrates charge indicators during normal operation and requires full power cycling to map actual capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Magnati OM-A880 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 7.4V 2600mAh Li-ion battery fits the Magnati OM-A880 portable payment terminal. It slots into the rear battery bay and powers the full terminal stack — display, wireless radio, and receipt printer. Capacity figure is 19.24Wh as rated in the product specification.

  • OM-A880 platform fit: The OM-A880 uses a 7.4V two-cell Li-ion pack with a BMS that handshakes with the terminal's charge IC on first boot. Voltage rail and connector pinout match the OEM pack so the terminal completes its power-on sequence without errors.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through simulated transaction loads — printer motor pulls, Wi-Fi bursts, and display-on states — and the BMS held the voltage rail steady without triggering overcurrent cutoff during any draw spike.
  • First deployment tip for the OM-A880: After installing this battery, complete one full transaction cycle before taking the terminal into a live environment. The OM-A880 maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Payment terminal rebooting mid-transaction after battery swap

The OM-A880 receipt printer draws a sharp current spike the moment it feeds paper — often 1.5A or more for under a second. On a new battery that hasn't completed a full charge-discharge cycle, the BMS can read this spike as an overcurrent fault and cut the output rail. The terminal loses power mid-transaction and reboots. Run the battery through one full charge cycle and process a test transaction before live deployment — this allows the BMS to learn the load profile and stop tripping on normal printer draws.

OM-A880 won't power on after sitting unused in a drawer

Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 1–3% per month. A terminal left unused for several months can drop the cell voltage below 2.5V per cell — the threshold where most BMS circuits lock the output to prevent damage. The terminal shows nothing when you press the power button, which looks like a dead battery or a hardware fault. Place the terminal on charge for at least 30 minutes without pressing any buttons; the charger applies a low-current trickle that nudges the cell voltage back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically 2.8–3.0V per cell, before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The charge indicator on my OM-A880 has been stuck at 99% for over an hour — is the battery faulty?

No. When the terminal first sees a new Li-ion cell, the charge IC enters a top-off mode and holds just below 100% while it balances the two cells inside the pack. This is normal behaviour and usually clears within 90 minutes of continuous charging. Leave the terminal plugged in without interrupting the charge cycle and the indicator will step to 100% once cell balance is confirmed.

My OM-A880 feels noticeably warm during a busy transaction period — is something wrong?

Warmth is expected when the display, wireless radio, and printer motor are all drawing current at the same time. The OM-A880's combined load during peak use pulls enough current to generate heat at both the cell and the terminal's charge circuit. As long as the terminal isn't too hot to hold and isn't shutting itself down, this is within normal operating range. If the terminal does shut down from heat, reduce simultaneous load by turning the display brightness down one step and check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated.

The OM-A880 gets partway through its PCI boot sequence then stops — it never reaches the home screen after I installed this battery.

The OM-A880 runs a power integrity check during the PCI boot sequence and will halt if the battery voltage reads below its acceptance threshold, typically around 7.0V on a 7.4V pack. A new battery shipped in storage mode may present a resting voltage just under this level. Put the terminal on charge for 20–30 minutes before attempting to boot — once the cell voltage rises above 7.0V, the terminal will complete the boot sequence and reach the home screen normally.
