Fits Pax IS524 and D210 payment terminals, replaces OEM part IS524.
7.4V 2000mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 14.8Wh — sufficient for full business-day POS operations on the IS524 without midday charging.
Connector seats flush into the terminal's battery bay with a single locking tab on the left side; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in an IS524 simulator under transaction load — the BMS accepted the new handshake within the first boot cycle, no fault codes.
After installation, run one complete transaction cycle before deploying live; the terminal calibrates its charge indicator during normal operation and requires this cycle to map actual capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pax IS524 / D210 — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (IS524)

This 7.4V 2000mAh Li-Polymer battery fits the Pax IS524 and D210 mobile payment terminals. It restores full operating capacity to terminals that no longer hold charge through a standard business shift. Capacity is 14.8Wh, matching the original cell specification.

  • IS524 and D210 platform compatibility: Both terminals share the same battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The same cell works across both models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through a full boot sequence on the IS524 platform. The BMS accepted the handshake on first power-on, charge IC entered standard CC-CV profile, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold during discharge testing.
  • First transaction cycle after install: Complete one full transaction cycle — including a receipt print — before deploying in a live environment. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and requires at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after battery swap

The IS524 runs a PCI-compliant boot check that includes a BMS handshake before the OS fully loads. A freshly installed cell may sit at a partial state of charge that causes the terminal to stall or loop at the boot screen. This is not a fault with the battery — it is the terminal refusing to proceed until the BMS reports a stable voltage. Plug into the charging cradle for a full charge cycle before first boot, then power on. The boot sequence completes normally once the cell is above 7.2V.

Terminal reboots mid-transaction during receipt printing

The thermal receipt printer draws a short current spike — often 1.5A or more — at the moment printing begins. If the replacement cell has not completed its first full charge, the BMS may interpret this spike as an overcurrent event and trip the protection circuit, causing an instant reboot. This looks like a software crash but is a hardware-level battery cutoff. Charge the battery fully before the first shift, confirm the terminal shows 100% on the status bar, then retest with a print job.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pax IS524 battery indicator is stuck at 99% and hasn't moved after an hour on the charger — is it faulty?

No — this is the charge IC in top-off mode. New Li-Polymer cells arrive at a partial state of charge, and the terminal's charge controller holds the final top-off phase longer than expected while it conditions the cell. Leave it on the cradle until the indicator clears to 100%, which typically happens after the CC-CV cycle fully completes. If it never moves past 99% after a full overnight charge, reseat the battery and try again.

My IS524 was sitting in a drawer for a few months and now won't power on at all — is the battery dead?

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage, and if the terminal sat long enough, the cell may have dropped below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell, or 5.0V for the pack. The protection circuit locks out at that point and the terminal shows no response to the power button. Place it on the charging cradle and leave it for at least 60 minutes before attempting to power on — most chargers include a pre-charge trickle mode that recovers cells down to approximately 2.0V per cell.

The Pax IS524 feels noticeably warm during a busy lunch period — is that a battery problem?

During high-transaction periods, the terminal runs its display, wireless radio, and receipt printer simultaneously. That combined draw generates heat at both the battery and the main board. Some warmth is normal. If the terminal becomes hot to the touch or starts throttling performance, check that the battery contacts are clean and making full contact — a high-resistance connection causes localised heating at the connector. Clean the contacts with a dry cloth and reseat the battery firmly.
