This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell replacing OEM part uf553450Z in the Airis T470 pocket PC. It fits the T470, T470i, and T470E handhelds — all three share the same battery bay dimensions and connector. Capacity comes from the product specification: 1200mAh / 4.44Wh.

  • T470, T470i, and T470E compatibility: All three variants use the same 3.7V voltage rail, identical 54.62 × 34.15 × 6.00mm cell footprint, and the same BMS handshake protocol — so one SKU covers the full T470 platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a T470 unit, confirming the BMS accepted the cell, reported charge state correctly in the OS, and held voltage above the 3.2V low-battery threshold under active use load.
  • RAM data sync before removal: The T470 stores open files and application state in volatile SRAM powered directly by the main battery. Pull the cell without syncing first and that data is gone. Sync to a host PC via ActiveSync before swapping the battery.

Why the T470 won't boot after a new battery is installed

The T470 boot sequence requires the battery to present a minimum voltage before the processor initialises. A freshly shipped Li-ion cell can arrive at storage voltage — around 3.5V — which sits below the threshold the device needs to begin booting. The device may show nothing on screen or flash the backlight once and stop. Charge the new battery to at least 3.8V before attempting the first boot.

T470 battery percentage dropping faster than expected during scanning sessions

Continuous barcode scanning with the backlight active draws several times the current of basic standby use. The T470's power management calibrates its fuel gauge against a light-use baseline, so the reported percentage can drop unevenly under scan-heavy workloads. This is a gauge calibration issue, not a cell fault. Run the device from full charge to automatic shutdown once to let the BMS recalibrate its discharge curve against actual load.

My T470 lost all my contacts and calendar entries when I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes, and it happens because the T470 holds active data in SRAM, which is volatile memory powered directly by the main battery. The moment the cell is removed, that RAM loses power and all unsaved application state is wiped. Before the next swap, open ActiveSync on the host PC, run a full sync, and confirm the data transferred before pulling the battery.

The T470 screen stays blank after fitting the new battery — nothing happens when I press the power button.

A freshly shipped Li-ion cell often arrives at storage voltage, typically around 3.5V, which is below the minimum the T470 boot sequence requires to initialise the processor. The device won't show any screen activity until the cell is above approximately 3.8V. Place the T470 on charge for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button again.

Wireless sync via ActiveSync keeps dropping or running very slowly since I fitted the replacement battery.

The T470's radio module is voltage-sensitive and throttles its transmit power when battery voltage is below roughly 3.7V. A new cell that hasn't been fully charged yet will sit in that range and cause the radio to behave erratically. Charge the device to full before running a wireless sync session, and confirm the battery indicator shows a complete charge before starting the transfer.
