Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sagem MONETEL EFT10P — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (3N60SLE-15617)
This is a 3.6V 1800mAh Ni-MH battery for the Sagem MONETEL EFT10P portable payment terminal. It also fits the MONETEL EFT20P, EFT20R, and the Proxibus LDP400 among other compatible models. Replaces OEM part numbers 3N60SLE-15617 and RC600AA03AA.
- EFT10P and EFT20 series compatibility: These terminals share the same 3.6V battery rail, physical form factor, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across the range, so one cell covers the full platform without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge, idle, and active transaction loads. The BMS accepted the cell on first boot and held charge delivery stable across combined wireless, display, and printer draw without triggering an overcurrent cutoff.
- First deployment tip for POS terminals: After fitting this battery, complete one full transaction cycle — including a receipt print — before putting the terminal into live service. The charge indicator is calibrated during normal operation, not during bench charging, and needs at least one complete power cycle to read correctly.
Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after battery swap
The EFT10P runs a PCI security check during every boot, and that sequence draws a short burst of current higher than idle load. A new Ni-MH cell that has not yet been through a full charge cycle may sit slightly below the terminal's minimum operating voltage threshold. The BMS will not yet have confirmed cell health to the terminal's firmware. Charge the battery fully to 4.2V measured at the connector, then allow the terminal to complete one uninterrupted boot before use.
EFT10P rebooting mid-transaction at the receipt print step
The thermal printer motor draws a sharp current spike at the moment it starts — this is the single largest instantaneous load the terminal places on the battery. If the cell voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold during that spike, the terminal resets rather than completing the print. This is more common on cells that have self-discharged from sitting unused. Charge the battery to full before deployment and confirm resting voltage is at or above 3.6V before running a live transaction.

Frequently Asked Questions
My EFT10P has been sitting in a drawer for a few months and now won't power on at all — is the battery dead?
Ni-MH cells self-discharge steadily during storage, and after several months the cell voltage can drop below the terminal's minimum recovery threshold. The terminal won't boot from a deeply discharged cell because the BMS blocks output until the cell is above a safe floor voltage. Place the battery on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle — if the terminal still won't respond after a complete charge, measure the battery voltage at the connector and confirm it reads at least 3.6V before concluding the cell is unrecoverable.
The charge indicator on the EFT10P is stuck at 99% and has been since I fitted the new battery — is something wrong with the charge circuit?
Nothing is wrong. When the charge IC detects a new or recently fitted Ni-MH cell, it enters a top-off mode and holds the indicator near full while it measures the cell's actual capacity. This is normal behaviour on first charge and not a fault with the terminal or the battery. Run the terminal through at least one complete charge-discharge-charge cycle and the indicator will recalibrate to reflect true remaining capacity.
The EFT10P feels noticeably warm after a busy period processing back-to-back transactions — is the battery overheating?
During heavy use, the terminal is running the display, wireless radio, and thermal printer simultaneously, and that combined draw generates heat across the battery and charging circuit. Ni-MH chemistry also produces more heat during charge and discharge than lithium cells, so some warmth is normal under sustained load. The BMS will trip a thermal cutoff if the cell reaches an unsafe temperature, which would shut the terminal down rather than let it continue. If the terminal stays warm but keeps running without shutting off, no action is needed — if it cuts out, let it cool for five minutes before restarting.
