Fits Qtek G100 pocket PC and replaces OEM part number GALA160.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 1100mAh delivers 4.07Wh — adequate for personal information management and light wireless sync on this early 2000s handheld.
Connector is a two-pin header with keyed alignment slot; orientation marked on the G100 battery door to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench tested the cell on Qtek hardware; the BMS accepted charge through the device's native charging cradle with no fault codes or voltage irregularities.
Perform a full data sync to the host computer before removing the old battery — the G100 stores open files and application state in RAM powered by the main pack, and removing the cell without syncing causes data loss.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Qtek G100 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (GALA160)

This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell for the Qtek G100 pocket PC. It replaces the original GALA160 battery in aging G100 units where the existing cell no longer holds a charge. The G100 is a Windows Mobile PDA, and this battery restores power for contacts, calendar, and mobile computing tasks.

  • G100 platform fit: The G100 uses a slim 51.54 × 38.98 × 6.64mm cell at 3.7V. This battery matches that footprint and voltage rail exactly, so the connector seats correctly and the device powers on without tripping the BMS lockout.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a G100 unit, confirmed the BMS communicated correctly with the device, and verified the battery reached full charge without fault flags.
  • RAM data protection before swap: Sync all open data to your host PC before removing the old battery. The G100 stores active files and application state in SRAM powered directly by the main cell — cutting power without syncing will erase unsaved data.

Why the G100 won't boot after a battery swap

The G100 boot sequence requires the cell to be above a minimum voltage threshold before the device will attempt to start. A new battery sitting in storage may have dropped below that threshold. If the unit shows nothing on screen after fitting this battery, connect it to the charger for at least 15 minutes before pressing the power button. Do not attempt repeated cold boots — let the cell recover voltage first.

G100 losing contacts and calendar data after battery removal

The G100 holds the active PIM database — contacts, appointments, and tasks — in volatile SRAM. That RAM requires continuous battery power to retain data. The moment the cell is disconnected, anything not backed up to a host PC or storage card is gone. Before pulling the old battery, run ActiveSync and confirm the sync completed successfully. Then swap the cell quickly and reboot.

Frequently Asked Questions

My G100 shows a blank screen after fitting the new battery — is the battery dead or is something else wrong?

The G100 won't attempt to boot if the cell voltage is too low, and a battery that's been in storage can drop below that threshold. Connect the device to its charger immediately after fitting the battery and leave it for 15–20 minutes before pressing power. We confirmed this behaviour on the bench — the unit powered on normally once the cell recovered to approximately 3.6V. Do not keep pressing the power button; let the battery charge first.

I lost all my contacts and calendar entries when I swapped the battery — can I recover them?

The G100 stores its PIM data in SRAM powered by the main battery, so removing the cell wipes that data instantly. Recovery depends entirely on whether a sync had been run before the swap. If you had ActiveSync connected to a PC before the battery change, restore from that backup via ActiveSync now. If no sync was run, the data is not recoverable from the device itself.

The G100 drains noticeably faster when I use Bluetooth or wireless sync — is that a battery fault?

That is normal draw behaviour, not a fault. The G100's wireless radio pulls significantly more current than the device uses in standby, and with a 1100mAh cell the voltage drop under that load is measurable. Keep the device on charge when running extended ActiveSync sessions. If the battery is dropping to the low-battery warning faster than expected outside of wireless use, run two full charge cycles before drawing conclusions — a new Li-ion cell needs a couple of cycles to settle at rated capacity.
