Fits I-Mate PDA-N and replaces OEM part numbers GALA160 and 35H00063-01M.
3.7V 1100mAh lithium-ion cell restores full charge capacity to this Pocket PC device.
Connector slides into the battery slot on the PDA-N base with positive terminal forward.
We bench-tested this cell in a PDA-N unit; BMS accepted the swap without fault codes.
Perform a full data sync to the host computer before removing the old battery — PDA devices store open files and application state in RAM powered solely by this cell, and removal without sync causes data loss.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

I-Mate PDA-N — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (GALA160)

This 3.7V 1100mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the I-Mate PDA-N handheld computer. It fits directly using OEM part numbers GALA160 and 35H00063-01M. When the original cell degrades and no longer holds adequate charge, this replacement restores the device to full operational capacity.

  • PDA-N platform fit: The PDA-N uses a 3.7V single-cell Li-ion pack with a BMS that monitors cell voltage and temperature. This replacement matches the OEM voltage rail and connector pinout, so the device firmware reads charge state correctly without recalibration prompts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS communicated correctly with the host device throughout, reporting accurate charge state and triggering low-battery warnings at the expected voltage threshold.
  • RAM data protection before swap: The PDA-N stores open files and application state in volatile SRAM powered directly by the main battery. Sync all data to a host computer using ActiveSync before removing the old cell — pulling the battery without syncing will erase any unsaved records or open application data.

PDA-N losing data after battery swap

The PDA-N holds active data — open contacts, calendar entries, unsaved notes — in SRAM that requires continuous battery voltage to retain its contents. The moment the old cell is removed and before the new one seats, that voltage drops to zero. Even a brief interruption wipes everything stored in RAM. To avoid this, run a full ActiveSync backup to the host PC, confirm the sync completed, then swap the battery. After installing the replacement, allow the device to boot fully before opening any applications.

PDA-N not booting after new battery installed

A freshly installed replacement cell may not carry enough charge from storage to clear the PDA-N's minimum boot voltage threshold. If the device shows nothing on screen or displays a low-battery icon immediately after installation, the cell simply needs a charge before the first boot attempt. Connect the device to its original charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button. The boot sequence requires a stable supply above approximately 3.4V to complete without locking at the splash screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

My PDA-N contacts and calendar were wiped when I swapped the battery — can I get that data back?

The PDA-N stores active data in SRAM, which loses everything the instant battery voltage drops to zero — there is no buffer. If you had previously synced with ActiveSync on a host PC, restore from that backup by reconnecting and running a full restore. If no backup exists, the data is gone. For future swaps, always run and confirm a full ActiveSync sync before removing the battery.

The PDA-N boots to the setup wizard after the new battery — is that normal?

Yes, and it means the SRAM lost power during the swap, so the device has reset to factory defaults. This is a data-loss event, not a hardware fault with the new battery. Reconnect to your host PC via ActiveSync and restore from your most recent backup. After restoring, charge the device fully before checking that all records have transferred correctly.

Wireless sync is dropping or running much slower than it used to — what changed?

The PDA-N's wireless radio is voltage-sensitive and draws significantly more current than standby mode. If the replacement cell isn't fully charged, the voltage sags under radio load, causing the connection to drop or throttle. Charge the battery to 100% before attempting a wireless sync. If drops persist on a full charge, check that the device reports a stable voltage above 3.7V in Settings > System > Power.
