Fits Zjiang ZJ-8001 and ZJ-5802 portable thermal printers; replaces OEM part 58LYDD-Z.
7.4V 1100mAh lithium-ion delivers stable voltage for thermal head operation and paper feed motors.
Connector slides into battery slot with single-tab lock; orientation marked on printer housing.
Bench test showed BMS accepted load current without early cutoff; thermal head held steady voltage.
After installing, charge fully and print 5 test receipts — thermal printer motors require calibration sequence to confirm BMS current delivery matches the new cell profile.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Zjiang ZJ-8001 / ZJ-5802 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (58LYDD-Z)

This is a 7.4V 1100mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Zjiang ZJ-8001 and ZJ-5802 portable thermal printers. It replaces OEM part 58LYDD-Z and fits both models directly. Use it in retail, logistics, and hospitality wherever the original battery no longer holds a charge.

  • ZJ-8001 and ZJ-5802 compatibility: Both models run the same 7.4V power rail, use the same connector pinout, and share the same BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through the ZJ-8001 print cycle under load. The BMS held a stable discharge curve across paper feed motor actuation and thermal head activation without triggering low-voltage cutoff.
  • First-deployment print sequence: After installing, charge fully and run five test receipts before putting the printer into service. The paper feed motor draws a brief current spike on each feed cycle — running those prints lets the BMS confirm its current profile against the new cell before live use.

Why the ZJ-8001 refuses to print after sitting unused for weeks

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the ZJ-8001 sits long enough, the battery voltage drops below the minimum the BMS will release for motor drive — typically around 6.0V on a 7.4V nominal cell. The printer powers on but the feed motor and thermal head receive no current. A full charge cycle restores the cell above the BMS release threshold and normal printing resumes.

Faded or uneven print output on a charged battery

The thermal print head on the ZJ-8001 needs a stable voltage to reach consistent operating temperature across the full print width. A worn or partially degraded cell causes voltage sag mid-print, which drops head temperature unevenly and produces pale or banded output. This is not a paper or head calibration issue — it is a cell capacity problem. Swap to a new battery and verify open-circuit voltage reads 8.2–8.4V before printing.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ZJ-8001 keeps dropping its Bluetooth connection partway through printing a batch — what's causing that?

The Bluetooth radio in the ZJ-8001 draws extra current during active transmission, and a degraded or low battery can't sustain voltage for both the radio and the thermal head simultaneously. The firmware cuts the radio first to protect the print cycle, which looks like a random disconnect. Charge the battery fully and check that open-circuit voltage reads above 8.0V before running batch jobs.

The paper feed on my ZJ-5802 is jamming even though the printer seems to have power — is this a battery issue?

Yes — the feed motor torque drops as cell voltage sags, and below a certain threshold the motor can't generate enough pressure to advance the paper cleanly. The printer still powers on at low voltage, but the motor stalls mid-feed and the paper jams. Charge the battery to full and retest; if the jam clears, the cell was the cause, not the paper path.

The ZJ-8001 shows a full battery indicator right after charging but dies quickly once printing starts — what's wrong?

A cell with significant capacity fade will read a normal resting voltage after charge but collapse under the combined load of the thermal head and feed motor. The battery indicator reads voltage, not remaining capacity, so it shows full until the load exposes the degraded cell. Run the printer through five continuous receipts — if voltage drops sharply and the low-battery warning triggers within that sequence, the cell needs replacement.
