Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HPRT A300 / A318 / A330 / Z3 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (KM300BU)
This is a 7.4V 1600mAh Li-ion battery replacing OEM part KM300BU in HPRT portable thermal receipt printers. It fits the A300, Z3, A318, and A330 models used in mobile point-of-sale, restaurant, and logistics environments. Voltage and cell chemistry match the original specification exactly.
- A300 / A318 / A330 / Z3 platform compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The KM300BU form factor — 79.85 × 40.34 × 21.42mm — is consistent across the series, so one battery fits all four variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an A300 unit. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault codes, thermal head voltage held steady across multiple print jobs, and the paper feed motor drew current within normal limits throughout testing.
- First-use print sequence: After installing and fully charging, print five test receipts before deploying in a live environment. The paper feed motor draws a calibration-level current burst on each feed cycle — running this sequence confirms the BMS has correctly profiled the new cell under real motor load conditions.
Bluetooth dropping mid-print job on the A300
The A300's Bluetooth radio and thermal head fire simultaneously during a print job. At low battery, the combined current draw causes a voltage sag that pulls the supply rail below the radio's minimum operating threshold. The Bluetooth stack drops the connection before the print job completes — the device appears functional but stops mid-receipt. Charge the battery to full and confirm resting voltage reads at least 8.0V before returning the unit to service.
Faded or uneven print on a freshly installed battery
The thermal print head requires a stable, consistent voltage to maintain the correct element temperature across the full print width. If the replacement cell's BMS hasn't yet profiled the load, it can throttle output on the first few cycles, causing the head to run cooler than spec and produce faint or patchy text. This is not a head fault. Run the five-receipt calibration sequence described above — output typically normalises by the third receipt as the BMS locks onto the correct current delivery curve.

Frequently Asked Questions
My HPRT A300 was in storage for three months and now it won't print at all — is the battery dead?
Long storage at a low state of charge can push a Li-ion cell below the BMS's minimum re-initialisation threshold, typically around 5.5V for a 7.4V pack. The BMS locks out discharge to protect the cells, so the printer gets no power even when connected to a charger. If the original battery won't recover after 30 minutes on charge, replace it with the KM300BU cell and charge the new battery fully before powering on — the BMS needs a complete charge cycle to initialise correctly after installation.
The paper feed keeps jamming even though the printer shows battery as charged — what's causing it?
The feed motor relies on consistent torque, which depends directly on the voltage the battery delivers under load. A degraded cell may report full charge on the display but sag significantly the moment the motor fires — torque drops, the paper doesn't advance cleanly, and the feed jams. Test resting voltage at the battery terminals: a healthy 7.4V Li-ion cell should read 8.2–8.4V fully charged. If it reads below 7.8V at rest, the cell has lost capacity and needs replacement.
My A300 prints fine for the first few jobs but then Bluetooth disconnects — why does this keep happening?
This is a voltage sag issue, not a pairing or firmware fault. As the battery depletes, simultaneous load from the Bluetooth radio and the thermal head pulls the supply rail below the radio's keep-alive threshold, and the connection drops. The printer may reconnect immediately, but the pattern will repeat and worsen as the cell ages further. Swap the battery and confirm it holds above 7.8V resting voltage after a partial discharge — if the new cell holds that floor, the disconnections will stop.
