This is a 14.4V, 5000mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the AEG BBM 14 STX-R and compatible 14.4V cordless tools. It carries OEM references including L1430R, B1430R, L1414, L1415, L1430, B1415R, and B1420R, among others. Fits a wide range of AEG 14.4V drills and drivers including the BSB 14 STX-R, BSB 14 G, and BSB 14 STX.

When you pull the trigger on a drill, the motor demands a spike of current before it reaches running speed — this is inrush current, and it can be three to five times the steady running draw. On a cold or freshly installed pack, the BMS may not yet have a calibrated threshold for the motor it's powering. If that spike exceeds the default overcurrent limit, the BMS cuts power instantly. The fix is not a faulty battery — it's a BMS that needs two break-in cycles at partial load before it profiles the motor correctly. After two moderate cycles, the BMS adjusts and the cutout stops.

Charger blinking red and refusing to accept the new pack after storage

AEG 14.4V chargers check cell voltage before starting a charge cycle. If the pack has been in storage and cells have self-discharged below roughly 2.5V per cell, the charger reads it as a fault and blinks red rather than starting. This is a protection mode, not a dead battery. Place the pack on the charger, wait 60 seconds, then remove and reinsert it — some chargers will attempt a recovery trickle charge on the second insertion. If the pack accepts a trickle and cells recover above 3.0V, the charger will move into a normal charge cycle.
