Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bosch 11524 / BAT299 Series — 24V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BAT299)
This is a 24V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Bosch cordless power tools including the 11524, 125-24, 12524, and 12524-03 among others. It replaces OEM part numbers BAT030, BAT031, BAT240, BAT299, and multiple 2 607 335 series packs. Drop this into any compatible Bosch 24V charger and tool without modification.
- 11524 and 125-24 platform compatibility: These models share a common 24V battery rail, identical mechanical connector housing, and the same BMS handshake protocol — one battery pack works across the entire lineup without adapter or rewiring.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through a Bosch 24V drill under variable torque loads. The BMS held stable through motor-start inrush spikes and maintained consistent voltage delivery across the discharge curve without premature cutoff.
- Break-in for Ni-MH cells: Run the tool at moderate load for the first two full charge-discharge cycles. Ni-MH cells need cycling to reach rated capacity — skipping this leaves up to 15% of usable capacity dormant in new cells.
BMS cutoff on drill motor-start inrush surge
When you pull the trigger hard on a Bosch 24V drill, the motor draws a spike of current well above its running draw — sometimes 3–4× the continuous rating. If the BMS reads that spike as an overcurrent fault, it trips and cuts power instantly. This pack's overcurrent threshold is calibrated for the 11524 and 125-24 motor inrush profiles. On a new pack, running two break-in cycles allows the BMS to record the motor's inrush signature before locking in its protection thresholds.
Tool bogs and loses torque under sustained heavy load
Voltage sag under load is different from a BMS trip — the tool keeps running but feels weak and struggles through material. This happens when internal cell resistance rises, pulling the voltage rail down under demand. On Ni-MH packs, dirty or corroded battery contacts accelerate this by adding resistance before the current even reaches the cells. Clean the tool's battery terminals with isopropyl alcohol and check that resting voltage reads at or above 25.2V before blaming the cells.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Bosch 11524 cuts out the moment I pull the trigger hard — new battery, same problem. What's happening?
That's a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty cell. The motor-start inrush spike on the 11524 briefly exceeds the protection threshold on a cold or unconditioned pack. Run two full moderate-load cycles before heavy torque applications — this lets the BMS profile the inrush draw and adjust its cutoff window. If it still trips after conditioning, check that rail contacts are clean and seated fully, since contact resistance amplifies the apparent current spike the BMS sees.
The charger never stops blinking red on this new pack — it sat in the box for a while before I used it.
Ni-MH packs in storage self-discharge slowly, and if voltage drops below the charger's acceptance threshold, the charger refuses to begin a normal charge cycle and holds a fault blink. Measure cell voltage at the pack terminals — if it reads below 20V, the charger is rejecting it as a deeply discharged pack. Some Bosch chargers have a recovery or "refresh" mode; select it and let it run a low-current trickle for 30–60 minutes until the pack climbs above 22V, at which point the charger will switch to a normal charge cycle.
After a long session of drilling concrete, my 12524 pack gets hot and shuts off — is the battery failing?
That's thermal cutoff doing its job, not cell failure. Sustained high-torque work into hard material generates heat in both the motor and the cells simultaneously, and the enclosed battery housing traps it. The BMS cuts power when cell temperature exceeds its thermal limit to prevent cell damage. Let the pack cool at room temperature for 15–20 minutes before resuming — do not place it against a cold surface or run a fan directly on it, as rapid temperature swings stress Ni-MH cells. If thermal trips happen earlier each session, check that the battery housing vents are clear of dust and debris.
