Fits Bosch 11536C and compatible 36V cordless drills with BAT836, BAT840, or D-70771 battery slots.
36V, 4000mAh lithium-ion cell delivers sustained power for drilling and fastening without voltage sag under load.
Connector seats flush into the Bosch 36V rail — verify the locking tab engages fully before tool operation.
We bench-tested this pack on a 11536C drill motor and confirmed BMS holds steady through trigger-pull inrush spikes without early cutoff.
On first use, run the drill at half throttle for two cycles before full-torque applications — allows the BMS to establish motor inrush thresholds correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bosch 11536C Series — 36V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BAT836)

This is a 36V, 4000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Bosch 11536C, 11536C-1, 11536C-2, 11536VSR, and compatible 36V Bosch power tool platforms. It replaces OEM part numbers BAT836, BAT840, BAT810, BAT838, and several 2 607 336 series packs. The cell configuration and BMS communicate with Bosch's 36V charger protocol directly.

  • 11536C platform compatibility: The 11536C rotary hammer and its variants run a 36V rail with a 10-cell Li-ion arrangement. These models share the same battery bay geometry, contact layout, and BMS handshake signal — which is why BAT836, BAT840, and BAT838 are interchangeable across the lineup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack on a 36V Bosch platform under rotary hammer load conditions. The BMS held the overcurrent threshold through repeated high-inrush trigger pulls and balanced cell voltages correctly across charge and discharge cycles.
  • Motor-start conditioning on first use: On first use, run the rotary hammer at half load for two cycles before full chisel or drill applications. This lets the BMS profile the motor's inrush current spike and set its overcurrent protection threshold accurately before you push the tool hard.

BMS cutoff on rotary hammer motor-start inrush surge

The 11536C draws a significant current spike the instant the trigger is pulled — this inrush can briefly exceed 30A on a stalled or cold motor. If the BMS hasn't profiled the tool's inrush pattern, it may read the spike as a fault and cut power. This is more common with a freshly installed or storage-discharged pack. Run two partial-load cycles first so the BMS establishes an accurate overcurrent baseline before heavy applications.

Charger not recognising the pack after extended storage

Li-ion cells that drop below approximately 2.5V per cell during storage fall outside the voltage window most Bosch 36V chargers will accept for a standard charge cycle. The charger may blink an error or show no response at all. Some Bosch chargers include a recovery or trickle-wake mode — leave the pack seated for 5–10 minutes to allow the charger to attempt cell recovery. If cell voltage is at or above 2.5V per cell across the pack, the charger should accept it and begin a normal charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bosch 11536C cuts out immediately when I pull the trigger hard — is the battery faulty?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty cell. The rotary hammer's motor-start inrush current spikes sharply the moment the trigger is pulled, and a new or storage-discharged pack's BMS may flag it as an overcurrent fault before it has profiled the tool. Run two half-load cycles first — light drilling, no hammer mode — so the BMS can establish a baseline. After that, full trigger pulls under hammer load should hold without cutout.

The tool feels weak and bogs down mid-hole even with a charged battery — what's going wrong?

That's voltage sag under load, not a charge issue. High contact resistance at the battery rail — from corrosion, debris, or a loose connection — drops the voltage the tool actually receives during the motor's sustained draw. Clean the battery contacts and the tool's battery bay contacts with a dry cloth or contact eraser, then re-seat the pack firmly. If the problem persists, check rail contact resistance with a multimeter — anything above 50 milliohms at the contact points will cause noticeable sag under rotary hammer load.

This battery performs fine indoors but loses power quickly when I use the 11536C outside in winter — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong — Li-ion internal resistance rises substantially below 5°C, which reduces the current the cells can deliver under load. The 11536C's rotary hammer motor demands high sustained current, so the drop is noticeable. Store the battery indoors at room temperature and only take it outside when you're ready to work. If the pack has been cold for a while, a 10-minute warm-up charge indoors before use will bring cell temperature up and restore normal output.
