Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hitachi CJ10DL / DS10DFL Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BCL 1015 / 329369)
This is a 10.8V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery that replaces the original pack on Hitachi's 10.8V compact cordless tool range. It fits the CJ10DL, DS10DFL, FCG 10DL, FCH 10DL, and more than 20 additional models in the same platform. OEM part numbers covered include 329369, 329370, 329371, 329389, 331065, BCL 1015, BCL 1030, BCL 1030M, and BCL1030A.
- 10.8V platform shared across models: The CJ10DL, DS10DFL, and FCG/FCH 10DL series all run the same 10.8V battery rail, use the same slide-in connector, and share a common BMS handshake protocol — which is why one pack number covers all of them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a CJ10DL. The BMS responded correctly to motor-start inrush, held voltage under sustained load, and accepted a full charge without triggering fault flags on the charger.
- Break-in on first use: Run the drill at moderate load — light drilling, not full-torque fastening — for the first two cycles. This lets the BMS log the motor's inrush current pattern before setting its overcurrent protection thresholds.
BMS cutoff on trigger-pull inrush in the CJ10DL
When you pull the trigger on a cordless drill, the motor draws a spike of current before reaching steady-state RPM. On a 10.8V pack, that inrush can momentarily exceed the BMS overcurrent threshold — especially if the pack is new or has been in storage. The BMS interprets this spike as a fault and cuts output before the bit moves. A fresh pack that hasn't profiled the motor yet is more prone to this than one that's been through several cycles. Run two break-in cycles at moderate load before attempting maximum torque work.
Charger won't recognise the pack after storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the pack drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, most Hitachi 10.8V chargers won't initiate a charge cycle — the charger reads the pack as faulty and either blinks an error or does nothing. This isn't a dead battery; it's the charger's acceptance voltage gate. Some chargers have a recovery or "boost" mode that applies a low-current trickle to bring the pack back above the acceptance threshold. If yours doesn't, leave the pack on the charger for 10–15 minutes — many units will retry automatically once cells recover to around 9V total pack voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions
My CJ10DL cuts out the moment I pull the trigger on a tough fastener — is the battery tripping?
Yes — this is the BMS overcurrent threshold tripping on motor-start inrush. The initial current spike when the drill engages a load can exceed what the BMS allows, particularly on a new or freshly charged pack. Run two cycles at light load first so the BMS can profile the inrush pattern. After that, full-torque pulls should clear without cutoff.
The drill runs fine for a few seconds then bogs down and feels weak mid-hole — what's happening?
That's voltage sag under sustained load. As current draw rises during drilling, internal cell resistance causes the pack voltage to drop — the motor loses torque before the BMS trips. Check the battery contacts on both the pack and the tool for corrosion or debris, since high contact resistance makes sag worse. Clean the contact rails with a dry cloth and reseat the pack firmly. If sag continues with clean contacts, the cells have degraded and the pack needs replacing.
The drill worked fine all summer but now it loses power fast in cold weather — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong with the pack. Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which reduces the current the cells can deliver and causes the voltage to sag earlier under load. Store the battery indoors at room temperature and only fit it to the tool just before use. A pack warmed to around 20°C will deliver noticeably more torque than one pulled straight from a cold van or garage.
