Fits Ryobi BB-1600 and BHT-2600 cordless tools; replaces OEM part B-1013L.
Outputs 10.8V and 1500mAh capacity; sustains drill and impact driver operation without voltage sag.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with a positive locking tab on the left side.
We bench-tested with a BB-1600 drill motor; the BMS held steady through trigger pull inrush spikes without early cutoff.
On first use, run the drill at half throttle for two cycles before full-torque fastening — lets the BMS learn motor startup current draw before locking overcurrent thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ryobi BB-1600 / BHT-2600 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (B-1013L)

This is a 10.8V 1500mAh lithium-ion battery built to the B-1013L specification. It fits Ryobi BB-1600 and BHT-2600 cordless tools — compact drills, impact drivers, and hedge trimmers running on the 10.8V platform. Capacity figure is 1500mAh (16.2Wh), matching original Ryobi spec for these models.

  • BB-1600 and BHT-2600 platform fit: Both models share the same 10.8V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One battery covers both tools without any adapter or wiring change.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a BB-1600 drill. The BMS held cutoff voltage correctly at the low end and accepted charge without fault codes on a standard Ryobi 10.8V charger.
  • Motor inrush conditioning on first use: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before full-torque applications. This allows the BMS to log the motor's inrush current signature and set overcurrent thresholds accurately before you drive fasteners at maximum load.

BMS cutoff on BB-1600 motor-start inrush surge

The BB-1600's motor draws a short, sharp current spike the moment the trigger engages. On a new or recently stored pack, the BMS has no stored current profile for that motor, so it may trip the overcurrent protection before the motor reaches running speed. The pack reads as dead even though the cells are fully charged. Two or three partial-load trigger pulls recalibrate the threshold and the cutout stops.

Charger not recognising the pack after storage

If the battery sat in storage for an extended period, cell voltage can drop below the minimum acceptance threshold most Ryobi 10.8V chargers require to begin a charge cycle — typically around 8V on this platform. The charger LED blinks red or shows no response at all. A brief recovery charge using a compatible charger with a "wake" or "trickle" mode can bring the cells back above the acceptance floor. If you don't have a recovery-capable charger, connect the pack, wait two minutes, then disconnect and reconnect — some chargers will attempt a recovery pulse on the second connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BB-1600 cuts out the instant I pull the trigger on a tough screw — battery shows charged but tool dies immediately. What's happening?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. The motor's start-up current spike — which is several times the running current — exceeds the protection threshold the BMS has set for an unconditioned pack. Run the drill at light load a few times before attacking hard fasteners. After two or three trigger pulls under low resistance, the BMS profiles the inrush and raises the threshold to match the motor's actual draw.

The tool bogs down and loses torque partway through a job even though the battery wasn't fully drained — what causes that?

That's voltage sag under sustained load, not capacity fade. When the cells can't deliver enough current to maintain rail voltage — often due to high contact resistance at the terminal or cells weakened by shallow cycling — the tool drops power before the battery is empty. Check the battery terminals and tool contacts for oxidation and clean them with a dry cloth. If sag persists after cleaning, the cells have degraded from repeated partial-discharge cycles and the pack needs replacing.

It's cold outside and the BB-1600 feels sluggish and weak compared to normal — is the battery faulty?

Not faulty — lithium-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which limits how much current the cells can deliver per second. That reduced current delivery shows up as sluggishness and reduced torque even on a fully charged pack. Warm the battery to room temperature before use — carry a spare indoors while one is on the tool. Once the cells are above 10°C, output returns to normal rated levels.
