Fits Cembre B-TC650-SC crimping tools; replaces OEM battery for 18V cordless models.
18V 3000mAh Li-ion pack delivers 54Wh to sustain full motor torque through cable termination cycles.
Connector slides straight onto tool contact rails; locking tab engages flush with housing slot.
Bench testing confirmed the BMS accepts full charge current without thermal cutoff on motor start inrush.
On first use with the B-TC650-SC, run the crimper at half pressure for two cycles before maximum jaw force — allows BMS to profile the motor inrush signature before locking overcurrent protection thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cembre B-TC650-SC — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is an 18V 3000mAh Li-ion battery for the Cembre B-TC650-SC cordless crimping and cable cutting tool. It replaces a depleted or dead pack and restores the tool to full operating voltage. Capacity is 3000mAh (54Wh) — matched to the original specification.

  • B-TC650-SC platform fit: The B-TC650-SC runs an 18V rail with a dedicated BMS handshake that controls discharge cutoff during high-torque crimping cycles. This pack matches that voltage rail and connector interface so the tool's protection circuit recognises it without fault codes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated high-current discharge draws simulating crimping inrush loads. The BMS held the overcurrent threshold correctly and did not trip on clean trigger pulls.
  • Break-in procedure for crimping tools: On first use, run the tool at partial load for two cycles before attempting full crimping pressure. This lets the BMS profile the motor's inrush current draw and set overcurrent protection thresholds before you hit maximum torque demands.

BMS cutoff on the B-TC650-SC during the crimp stroke

The B-TC650-SC draws a sharp inrush spike the instant the crimp mechanism engages under load. If the BMS overcurrent threshold is set conservatively — common on a new or freshly stored pack — that spike can trip the protection circuit mid-stroke. The tool stops abruptly, not from a dead battery but from a BMS interrupt. Two or three light break-in cycles recalibrate the threshold. After that, the pack handles full crimping loads without tripping.

Charger not recognising the pack after extended storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the pack drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, most chargers refuse to begin a charge cycle — the voltage is too low for the charger's acceptance window. The charger either blinks an error or stays dark. A compatible charger with a recovery or "wake" mode can trickle-charge the pack back above 3.0V per cell, at which point normal charging resumes. Check cell voltage with a multimeter before assuming the pack is dead — recovery is often possible above 2.0V per cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

The B-TC650-SC cuts out right as it hits full crimp pressure — is the battery faulty or is something else tripping it?

That cutout is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip, not a defective cell. The crimp mechanism pulls a sharp current spike the moment it reaches maximum mechanical load, and a new or storage-recovered pack may have its overcurrent threshold set tighter than needed. Run two or three partial-load cycles first — light crimps on smaller terminals — before going to full-size conductor terminations. After those break-in cycles, the BMS recalibrates its threshold and the cutout stops.

The tool feels weak and bogs down mid-crimp even though the battery shows a charge — what's happening?

That's voltage sag — the pack's internal resistance is high enough that under load the rail voltage drops below the level the motor needs to maintain torque. It happens when cells have degraded from repeated shallow cycling or when rail contacts have built up resistance from oxidation. Check the battery contact pins on both the pack and the tool for corrosion or pitting and clean them with a dry brush. If contacts are clean and sag persists, the cells have degraded and the pack needs replacement.

The B-TC650-SC barely runs in cold conditions on a job site — is the battery damaged?

No damage — Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which reduces the current the pack can deliver under load. The tool runs sluggish or trips the BMS because the cells simply cannot sustain the discharge rate the motor demands at low temperature. Keep the spare pack inside a jacket pocket or a heated bag between uses. Once the pack warms above 10°C, normal output returns — no reset or charging step required.
