This is an 18V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 3000mAh (54Wh) for the Steinel MobileHEAT 3 cordless infrared heat gun. It also fits the GluePRO 18V, MH3, and MH5 within the same Steinel 18V platform. Voltage and connector match the original pack exactly.

• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through sustained heating cycles on the MobileHEAT 3. The BMS held the voltage rail steady across high-draw heating element activation and did not trigger overcurrent cutoff during repeated full-power starts.
• Heat gun cycling care: After switching off the MobileHEAT 3, let the housing cool for at least 90 seconds before removing the battery. Residual element heat transfers into the pack cavity and elevates cell temperature — pulling the battery hot accelerates cell degradation faster than discharge alone.

BMS cutoff during sustained high-heat output on the MobileHEAT 3

The MobileHEAT 3 heating element draws a continuous high current at full power — significantly more than an intermittent drill or impact driver. If the BMS detects combined cell heat and overcurrent simultaneously, it trips as a protection response, not a fault. This happens most often in ambient temperatures above 30°C or when the pack is already warm from a previous cycle. Let the battery rest at room temperature for five minutes and restart at a lower heat setting to reset the BMS state.

Charger blinking red and refusing to accept the pack after storage

Li-ion cells stored below approximately 2.5V per cell fall outside the voltage window most chargers use to identify a valid pack. The charger reads the low voltage as a damaged or foreign cell and refuses to initiate a charge cycle. To recover the pack, use a charger with a wake-up or recovery mode — some Steinel-compatible chargers support this — which applies a trickle current until cells reach 3.0V per cell. Once above that threshold, normal charging resumes automatically.
