Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Einhell BT-CD 10.8/3 LI — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4513377E)
This is a 10.8V, 2500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Einhell BT-CD 10.8/3 LI cordless drill-driver. It slots into the same battery bay and uses the same connector as the original pack. Capacity is 2500mAh (27Wh) — matching the stock specification.
- BT-CD 10.8/3 LI platform fit: The BT-CD 10.8/3 LI runs a 10.8V rail with a proprietary slide-in connector and a BMS handshake that checks cell voltage before the tool powers on. This pack meets that handshake requirement and holds the correct voltage range the drill expects at startup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated trigger pulls on a BT-CD 10.8/3 LI, monitoring cell voltage under motor-start inrush loads. The BMS held protection thresholds correctly and did not trip on standard torque applications.
- Motor-start break-in on first use: On first use, run the drill at half load for two cycles before applying maximum torque. This gives the BMS time to profile the motor inrush current draw and set accurate overcurrent protection thresholds for your specific drill unit.
BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush in the BT-CD 10.8/3 LI
When you pull the trigger on a cordless drill, the motor draws a brief current spike — often two to three times the running current — before it reaches speed. On a 10.8V pack, that spike is more pronounced relative to cell capacity than on higher-voltage platforms. A freshly installed or returned-from-storage pack may have a slightly elevated internal resistance, which amplifies the voltage sag during that spike. If the BMS interprets the sag as an overcurrent fault, it cuts power instantly. Running two break-in cycles at light load normalises internal resistance and reduces false BMS trips.
Charger not recognising the pack after storage
Li-ion cells that have sat unused for several months can drop below the charger's acceptance voltage threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell. The Einhell charger will blink an error or simply not begin a charge cycle when it detects cell voltage below that threshold. This is a BMS-level protection, not a charger fault. To recover the pack, place it in the charger and wait up to five minutes — some chargers apply a slow trickle to bring cells above 2.8V per cell before switching to normal charge mode.

Frequently Asked Questions
My BT-CD 10.8/3 LI cuts out the instant I pull the trigger — is the new battery faulty?
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty cell. At trigger pull, the drill motor draws a short inrush spike that can exceed the BMS threshold if the pack's internal resistance is elevated after storage. Run the drill at half load — light drilling, no hard driving — for two full charge-discharge cycles before applying full torque. That breaks in the cells and lets the BMS calibrate to the motor's actual inrush profile.
The drill runs but feels weak and bogs down mid-screw — what's causing that?
This is voltage sag, not capacity loss. At 10.8V, the pack has less voltage headroom than larger platforms, so high contact resistance at the battery terminals amplifies sag under load. Pull the battery, clean both the tool and battery contacts with a dry cloth, reseat firmly, and check that the slide latch is fully engaged. If the bogging persists after clean contact, charge the pack fully and retest — a cell below 3.5V will sag heavily even at moderate torque.
My BT-CD 10.8/3 LI loses noticeably more charge after each cycle — is that normal wear?
Capacity fade on a 10.8V 2500mAh pack accelerates when it is repeatedly charged after only light use — shallow cycling degrades Li-ion cells faster than full cycles. Run the pack down to the drill's low-voltage cutoff before recharging, rather than topping it up after every short task. This keeps the full charge window active across the cell's usable voltage range (roughly 3.0V to 4.2V per cell) and slows capacity fade over time.
