Fits Würth BS 14-A Combi and BS 14-A Power cordless drills; replaces original 14.4V packs.
14.4V 5000mAh chemistry delivers sustained torque on fastening and drilling without voltage sag mid-task.
Slide connector aligns vertical into tool housing; locking tab seats flush with BS series frame.
We ran full-load drilling cycles; BMS held steady through motor inrush spikes without premature cutoff.
On first use with the BS 14-A, run fastening at half trigger for two cycles before full torque work — lets the BMS calibrate motor current draw thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wurth BS 14-A Combi / BS 14-A Power — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 14.4V 5000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Wurth BS 14-A Combi and BS 14-A Power cordless drill/drivers. It matches the voltage rail and connector footprint of the OEM pack. Capacity is rated at 5000mAh (72Wh) — use the Wurth charger designed for 14.4V Li-ion packs.

  • BS 14-A Combi and BS 14-A Power fit: Both models run the same 14.4V battery platform with identical connector pinout and BMS communication protocol. One replacement pack covers both tools without adapter or wiring changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated motor-start inrush events on a drill load rig. The BMS held its overcurrent threshold through trigger-pull spikes and did not trip under normal drilling loads at rated torque.
  • Break-in procedure for first use: On first use, run the drill at half load for two full cycles before applying maximum torque. This lets the BMS log actual inrush current from your specific motor before locking overcurrent protection thresholds.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush surge in the BS 14-A

The BS 14-A's brushed motor draws a sharp current spike the instant the trigger pulls — often 3–5× the running current. A new pack's BMS starts with conservative overcurrent thresholds and may read that spike as a fault. The battery cuts out immediately on trigger pull rather than during sustained load. Two break-in cycles at reduced load allow the BMS to recalibrate those thresholds to the motor's actual inrush signature.

Charger not recognising this pack after it sat in storage

Li-ion cells discharge slowly in storage. If the pack voltage drops below roughly 10V, most Wurth 14.4V chargers refuse to begin a charge cycle — the charger shows no light or blinks an error. Remove the pack, wait 60 seconds, and reinsert it firmly to force the charger to re-poll the BMS. If the charger still does not respond, the pack needs a recovery pulse — a charger with a manual recovery or "boost" mode will push the cells back above the 10V acceptance threshold before switching to normal charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BS 14-A Combi cuts out the moment I pull the trigger — is that the new battery?

Yes, this is a BMS overcurrent trip on motor-start inrush, not a defective cell. The fresh pack's BMS starts with tight overcurrent limits and the motor's initial current spike exceeds them. Run the drill at half load — light drilling or driving with no torque resistance — for two full discharge-and-charge cycles. After that, the BMS will have profiled the motor's inrush and the cutouts will stop.

The tool runs fine unloaded but bogs badly and feels weak when I actually drill into timber — what's happening?

That's voltage sag under load, and the first place to check is the battery contact rail. Dirty or corroded contacts add resistance, which causes the voltage at the motor to drop under current draw even when the cell voltage reads normal. Pull the pack, wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the tool with a dry cloth, reseat the pack, and test again. If sag continues, check that the pack voltage at rest is above 14.0V — anything lower after a full charge suggests a weak cell group.

The drill works fine in the workshop but loses power fast when I use it outside in winter — normal?

Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which reduces the current the cells can deliver without voltage sag. The BS 14-A's BMS reads the sagging voltage as low charge and may cut output early to protect the cells. Store the battery inside at room temperature and only move it to the tool when you're ready to use it — a pack that starts warm will hold its output through a typical outdoor session before the cells cool enough to affect performance.
