Fits Einhell TH-CD 18-2 2B cordless drill-driver; replaces OEM part numbers 4513681E and 29061.
18V 2000mAh lithium-ion pack delivers 36Wh — adequate for fastening and drilling through wood, metal, and plastic on single charge.
Connector slides into Einhell's standard 18V tool slot with positive contact facing inward; locking tab engages without forcing.
We bench-tested this cell on the TH-CD 18-2 2B motor-start inrush draw — BMS accepted the initial current spike without nuisance cutoff.
On first use, run the drill at half throttle for two cycles before maximum torque fastening — lets the BMS profile motor inrush before locking overcurrent thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Einhell TH-CD 18-2 2B — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4513681E)

This 18V 2000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Einhell TH-CD 18-2 2B cordless drill-driver. It fits the two-speed compact drill used for driving fasteners and drilling through wood, metal, and plastic. Voltage and BMS connector match the Einhell 18V cordless tool system.

  • Einhell 18V platform fit: The TH-CD 18-2 2B shares its battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol with the broader Einhell 18V cordless system. The pack slots in and the BMS handshake completes before the tool enables the trigger circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack under simulated drill-driver load across both speed settings. The BMS held stable through repeated trigger-pull inrush events and recovered cleanly after sustained torque application without false cutoff trips.
  • First-use load conditioning: Run the drill at half load — drilling small pilot holes or driving short screws — for two full cycles before pushing maximum torque. This lets the BMS profile the motor's inrush current draw and set accurate overcurrent thresholds before heavy-duty use.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush during hard drilling

When the TH-CD 18-2 2B bites into dense hardwood or metal, the motor draws a sharp current spike in the first 50–100ms of each trigger pull. A new or cold pack may have its BMS overcurrent threshold set conservatively until it profiles the motor load. If the BMS trips on that inrush, the tool goes dead mid-start. Running two break-in cycles at half load gives the BMS enough current history to widen the threshold and stop false trips under normal working loads.

Charger not recognising the pack after extended storage

Li-ion cells in storage self-discharge slowly. If the pack voltage drops below approximately 12–13V, most Einhell chargers exit their normal charge acceptance window and blink an error instead of starting a charge cycle. The fix is a brief boost: place the pack on the charger, remove it after 30 seconds, and reinsert it. Repeat two to three times. This nudges the cells above the acceptance threshold and the charger then latches into a normal CC/CV charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TH-CD 18-2 2B cuts out the instant I pull the trigger hard — then comes back when I release. What's happening?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by motor-start inrush current. The spike when the motor first engages can exceed the BMS protection threshold, especially on a new or cold pack. Run two light-load cycles first — small pilot holes, short screws — before driving into hardwood or metal. After profiling the motor draw, the BMS raises its trip point and the cutout stops.

The drill feels weak and bogs down when I apply sustained torque, even with a fresh charge. What causes that?

Voltage sag under load points to high contact resistance at the battery rail or early capacity fade from repeated shallow cycling. Clean the gold rail contacts on both the pack and the tool with a dry cloth — oxidation adds resistance and drops the voltage the motor actually sees. If the contacts are clean, check whether the pack has been repeatedly charged from 60–80% without full cycles; shallow cycling compresses usable capacity. Run a full discharge-to-charge cycle and retest.

The drill loses noticeable power in cold weather even though the battery shows fully charged. Is the pack faulty?

No — this is normal Li-ion behaviour below 5°C. Internal cell resistance rises sharply in the cold, which limits current delivery and causes the tool to feel underpowered even at full state of charge. Warm the pack to room temperature before starting work — store it indoors rather than in an unheated garage or vehicle overnight. Once the cells are above 15°C, full power delivery resumes.
