Fits Craftsman 315.11453 cordless drill and replaces OEM part numbers 11013, 11044, 130279002, 1325101, 1322522.
14.4V Ni-MH at 2000mAh delivers sustained torque on drilling and driving tasks without voltage sag under moderate load.
Connector slides straight into the tool battery slot with a single locking tab — no force needed on insertion.
Bench testing showed stable voltage hold during trigger pulls and no premature BMS cutoff on motor inrush across multiple cycles.
On first use with the Craftsman charger, run the drill at half throttle for two complete charge cycles before maximum torque work — allows the tool's thermal management to establish baseline motor load signatures.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Craftsman 315.11453 Series — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (11013)

This is a 14.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Craftsman cordless drills and drivers in the 315.11453 series. It fits multiple 315-series models including 315.1154 and 315.115400, as well as the 10153 platform. OEM part numbers covered include 11013, 11044, 130279002, 1325101, and 1322522.

  • 315-series platform compatibility: These models share a 14.4V power rail, the same battery bay footprint, and identical BMS handshake requirements. One pack covers the full cluster without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on a 315-series drill. The BMS logged accurate state-of-charge from cycle one, and overcurrent protection triggered cleanly at the expected motor-start inrush threshold.
  • Break-in load protocol: On first use, run the drill at half load for two cycles before high-torque applications. This lets the BMS profile the motor inrush current draw and set its overcurrent thresholds accurately before you hit full load.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush in 315-series drills

When you pull the trigger on a cordless drill, the motor draws a current spike several times higher than its running current — this is inrush. On a fresh or recently stored Ni-MH pack, the BMS may not yet have a calibrated overcurrent threshold, so it cuts the circuit the moment that spike hits. The fix is two break-in cycles at reduced load before full-torque use. After those cycles, the BMS sets its trip point around the actual inrush curve of your motor and stops nuisance-tripping.

Tool bogs and loses torque under sustained load

If the drill runs normally at first but loses speed or torque under sustained pressure, the cause is usually voltage sag — the terminal voltage dropping under load due to high internal resistance. On Ni-MH cells, this gets worse after repeated shallow cycling, where the battery is topped up before it fully discharges. Check the battery rail contacts on the tool for oxidation or debris first — resistance at that joint amplifies sag. If contacts are clean and sag persists, run the pack through two full discharge-and-charge cycles to reset the cell balance; resting voltage on a healthy pack should read 14.4V at no load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Craftsman 315-series drill cuts out the moment I pull the trigger — why does this new battery keep tripping off?

That cutout is the BMS reacting to motor-start inrush current before it has a calibrated trip point. A fresh or storage-rested Ni-MH pack hasn't profiled your motor yet, so the overcurrent protection fires on the spike. Run the drill at light load — no torque application — through two full charge and discharge cycles. After that, the BMS sets its threshold around your motor's actual inrush curve and the cutouts stop.

The Craftsman charger never starts charging this pack — the indicator just sits there with no activity. What's wrong?

Most Craftsman 14.4V chargers have an acceptance voltage floor. If the pack sat in storage and cells self-discharged below roughly 10–11V, the charger won't initiate a charge cycle. Connect the pack to the charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without interruption — some units include a trickle pre-charge mode that slowly brings the pack up to acceptance voltage before switching to full charge. If the charger still shows no activity after 20 minutes, check terminal contact with a multimeter; you need to see at least 1V per cell (14.4V nominal across the pack) to confirm the cells are recoverable.

My Craftsman drill feels noticeably weaker in cold weather — is something wrong with the battery?

Nothing is wrong — this is a known electrochemical behaviour of Ni-MH cells. Below about 5°C, internal cell resistance rises sharply, which increases voltage sag under load and reduces the current the pack can deliver. Store the battery at room temperature and fit it to the tool just before use rather than leaving it in an unheated garage overnight. After a few minutes of light use, cell temperature rises and performance returns to normal spec levels.
